Can you imagine the cost of all this paperwork, both monetarily and labour-wise? Important things are no longer important, it seems to me everyone wants their two penneth, even if it's at the expense of people suffering. But that's the way it is, there's no going back to the sensible times, they're long gone. Money IS more important than just about anything these days, conscience is all but a thing of the past. |

Andy, I am so sorry to read this. Do you ever get afraid that you might carry the gene and will end up with it as well? I don't allow myself to dwell on it but I admit it does cross my mind from time to time (because my grandmother had it). |

I certainly didn't take it that way Lyn, I just want to know that when I start writing I am in a position of strength, rather than somebody take a pop at me for having the wrong information, and thus it's over before it's begun. Thanks for your comments Andy, and Paul (via POE contact form) and anybody I might have missed but I am equally sorry to hear of the trauma that you both had to endure with your family. With the matter of elderly and alzheimers care being such a hot potato, how come nothing is done? Clearly money is an important factor here, but why should 'some' of the greedy care homes get away with it any longer? They need to fear what is about to unfold as far as I am concerned! |

When my dad died my mum had his war pension, civil service pension and state pension taken away from her. It appalled me at the time , does now and always will. |
