Good catch on the spelling Denzil.  (Thought I should point out for everyone how clever you really are!!! )  It's a new word for me.

Everybody Hurts is a great song, Harry.  Thanks for the link, Lyn.

Have you written any dog poems, Denzil?  I'm sure Kevin and Goldie are quite inspirational.  I'm glad you mentioned them in the one you wrote for me.  Smile

After the Party

Now that time leant on oaken bars
Is done, and I have emptied many jars
And had my fill of the finest ale
It’s time to tell a far-flung tale.

As I walked home, legged unsure
Towards the nearby sandy shore
Above the silent, shimmering sea
A frightening image did I see

Before me there, a ghostly face
Unsmiling, and no ears in place
Motionless in the distance it stood
'Twas no-one from the neighborhood

Speechless, and filled with fright
by the ghastly image of the night
I fell trembling, to my knees
Begged of the Lord, “save me, please;”

But the phantom still remained ahead --
I was sure it was the living dead
Alas, my prayers unanswered went
Lingering, was the object of my discontent

I fell into a hopeless fit,
No longer could I look at it.
I clasped my hands before my eyes
Before finally, I began to realize

The image that had given me a fright,
That awful, glowing, distant sight
That appeared before me in the gloom
Was nothing more than a very full moon.

Oh! Dr Denzil

What shall I do?

They've cancelled my surgery

So I'm writing now to you.

I'm sure you'll have the answer

'Cause I've heard you've  t'expertise,

To hammer on some metal bits

And make me two new knees.

Oh Dr. Denzil,

What shall I say,

I only need one knee at a time

If you could find a way,

To batter out some Fordson bits,

And file them nice and smooth,

Then oil them with the oily can

So I can really move!!

Oh! Dr.Denzil,

Perhaps I should wait

'Till  the surgeon's back on duty

And can help improve my gait.

He'll give me bright and shiny joints

To help me walk alright--

So I can go  out wandering

The lanes and fields so bright.

Oh! Dr.Denzil,

I think I've changed my mind--

I might just wait another week

'Cause the surgeon's awful kind.

He'll operate on my bad knee next Tuesday  afternoon,

So you can keep your Fordson bits,

'Bye-------we'll chat again real soon.
