As you all know I am from the Black Country and we have our own very distintive dialect here. The Black Country dialect has been researched and is very near to early Middle English and Germanic.

Some examples of words and expressions are

Tay - meaning tea

Pays or paes - meaning peas

Bostin - meaning great

Ow bist? - meaning how are you?

The cut - the canal

Black over Bills muthas - meaning bad weather coming

He doe arf spake funny - meaning can't understand his accent

On the box - meaning off work sick

and my husband's favourite - Yo gorra faice larka bulldog chewin a wassp - meaning are you in a bad mood!

I'd like to hear some of the words and expressions from your local dialects!
