I would also say no, or you'll end up paying for everything they do. I knew someone who paid their children vast amounts of money (he was a Doctor) for every A grade. As they got older the children expected more and more money.

Why would anyone share an email account?? No matter how much you trust each other everyone is entitled to their own privacy, so no I wouln't read it most definitely.

LOL @ Lyn!  I agree with you actually. I wouldn't share accounts, not because I have anything to hide but as you say, everyone is entitled to his/her privacy. So, no I wouldn't read it either.
