This thread:

started me thinking about happiness.

Are you generally happy with your life? If so - what makes you happy?

If not, do you have any thoughts about what you might do to increase your level of happiness?

I'm not completely happy with my life, but I know exactly what I need to do to change it and have been working on it. The fact that I reckon that I still have means and time to do that makes me happy with my life.

Perhaps I should be asked that again in 5 or 10 years lol

My faith makes me happy. My cats and their unconditional love. Being in service to others brings me more joy than I could ever dream of.

My friends and family. That is to name just a few!

I'm pretty happy, i mean i feel happy when i get up and realise i'm not in a wooden box!  we should be thankful for that i reckon, i enjoy lots of things in my life, i get a real kick from been outdoors, walking, seeing the sun etc etc.....   sure i have problems,  quite a few really, but usually these are overpowered by the good things in my life!  which...makes me happy overall. Happy Happy Happy!!!!

I'm always Happy - I have a few days when I'm glum and this year has been really hard with one thing and another but I'm a great believer in enjoying life to the full!

POE makes me happy too Jason! Terry makes me happy - he is such good fun! My boys make me happy - they say such funny things! All my family and friends make me happy! Work occasionally makes me happy! Seeing all the wonders out there makes me happy! Wow - this is a great thread John!

Thanks for the answers, folks.

I find happiness very elusive. Some mornings I wake up feeling wonderful, other mornings I wake up feeling dreadful - and nothing has changed in my life situation to explain the difference.

Chemicals in the brain, it seems.

Think we all feel awful some days John. This last year I've had one problem after another and it's taken it's toll on me but I am generally a cheerful bubbly person and I love to laugh. I love being silly really! Having the boys helps us get away with doing silly stuff in our 40's! Like this morning I was running away from Sol while he was pretending to be a crocodile. Maybe it is chemicals!

Well, I don’t have any nasty diseases, as far as I know, my family are all reasonably healthy and I’m not living in poverty, but I would say that I am more content than happy, I have happy times, usually when I’m out with my camera. I’m quite a positive person who can see the bright side of most situations and really just simple things make me happy, a nice sunny day, a walk on the beach oh and getting to know my friends on POE Smile
