Are You Happy?

And this is us

Actually I'm not that happy with myself at all. I never really have been. Very little people care about me. I go to school, come home, do school work, and go to bed.

 As well as I do, nobody cares and nobody thinks I can do anything in life. 

I work hard, and don't really know why anymore. I don't really know what to do to be more happy, and I don't care anymore really.  

I mean I do have people that care for me, but not there mostly online friends, and when I need them, they can't be there for me.

James, this is so sad.  I bet you would be surprised how many people really do care for you, maybe they aren't good at showing it.

Hang in there with your studies, and I promise you within a few years things will start looking up.

It's really hard being a teenager, I actually remember my teenage years even though they were a long time ago. I also have two teenage boys, 17 and 19; both of them are loners, they have each other and that is good, but they don't have friends (my youngest friend moved away this summer).

We are here for you though, I hope that helps. 

My dear young friend,

My heart goes out to you in your solitude and loneliness. If I was to tell you that there are many many people in a similar position to you, it would not help you much at this particular time I know.

The one thing you have on your side is youth though: I can guarantee that life can, and will improve for you. You will make good friends and become someone's good friend; at some stage you will experience the joys of falling in love and being loved in return. You will succeed at your studies because you strike me as an intelligent and industrious young man. The hard work you put in now, will reap dividends later when you pick up your first salary cheque.

There will be new hobbies and experiences for you to enjoy; places to see, music to move you, art to inspire you. Just live your life the best you can now. Give it your best shot, but whatever you do....don't give up!
