I'm content most of the time, John.  I am glad to see each new day and try not to moan about the weather. A dead person can't see the rain running down the window. I love going for walks in the countryside, come rain or shine. Family and good friends make me happy. I'm happy when I am painting, though it often ends in the bin. I am optimistic by nature, and whenever a problem is getting me down my favourite words are 'Tomorrow is another day'. Courtesy of Scarlett O'Hara.

If you're happy and you know it clap your hands!!

I am happy. I am exceedingly happy. I am happy because I have a wonderful husband of 24 years. I am happy because I have two wonderful sons.

I am happy because I am healthy (can't walk but that will be cleared away by next year).

I am happy because I have eyes to see the beauty around me (yes, even in N. Nevada), and ears to hear.

I lam happy because I can love and be loved.

I feel really blessed, and with that I try to share that happiness with others.

Here, here, well said Sue!Smile

Yes, I am.  I am healthy, my girls are healthy.  I have a home, a car, a job and everything I need to keep me going.

I was not happy for a long time but that is over. I gave myself the choice. Be happy or be unhappy and reap all the negative things from that.  I choose to be happy.  To me it's that simple.  It's so much easier to be happy and to love EVERYTHING around you.  To love even the bad.

I love the way you put that, Krissy.  I put a quote from Abe Lincoln on the quotes thread a while back - "Most people are as happy as they make their minds up to be."  What you said reminds me of that quote.

I guess I'm pretty happy.  The days that I don't want to get out of bed are almost non existent, although I have had them.  I think, for me, I have an underlying joy which isn't dependent on external circumstances, and I think that's related to my faith.  I have literally prayed my way out of feeling down.  One of the things that helps me be happy is to concentrate on the good things in my life, for which I feel very blessed, and not dwell on the less than perfect.  I think about the vast majority of the world's population that would trade places with me in a heartbeat.  I think any unhappiness I feel is probably the restlessness we all feel to be caused by the drudgery of daily living.  I still have reqrets and doubts, but no fear.  And I feel blessed in so many ways - good family, great husband, wonderful friends (including all of you).
