If I asked my mum what was for dinner, she would say," Air pie with bread and iffit". When I asked what was iffit, she said, "If it in the cupboard you can have it".

Peter, kind of like "Ground beef and hamburger" which meant anything you can find to go along with it, most often, ground beef patty, pork and beans, with cheese melted on top and little green onions chopped over the top, on an piece of bread. Sometimes chili instead of pork and beans...some times mashed potatoes and hamburger gravy.

Words you remember from your youth

Some wise words I remember :-

Believe in yourself.

Life is what you make of it.

There is no escaping fate.

Only two things are ever certain.... Death and Taxes.

If you can't say anything nice keep your mouth shut.

Never trust a fart.

One of my mother's favorites was, "Close the door, you'll let the flies out!"
