Thanks Paul

Do you want to take on the job as curator and keeper of the Ghost Activities Department, arrange tours, guest appearances, autographs, and things like that?

Ray, LOL!  Mawsley's a little more centrally located, for our friends from up north.  But in Cornwall (sigh). I might have a chance now and again to see a certain someone  if it's in Cornwall (if only he didn't find Bodmin to be so scary. lol)  Wink

Capital idea, Paul.  There has to be some history attached to the place.

And it needs a legend too and  Upoetia takes its name from a young local girl many years ago when her beloved went off to the Crusades.  She duly faithfully awaited for his return and one day he did indeed come back, but had another lady he had taken instead. Upoetia was so distraught at finding this, she threw herself into the local lake and drowned herself.  The full name of the pub was originally The Maiden Upoetia, named in her honour.

Excellent, Paul!  You're definitely in charge of history and atmosphere.  And I think we should restore the orignal name - The Maiden Upoetia - has a lovely ring to it.

A good point Ruth,You would stand a good chance of meeting Denz in a pub in Cornwall......well, come to think of it, in any pub anywhere !!! But maybe suggesting Bodmin is pushing Denz beyond his limits given the 'horse' situation. Although the wise and literate denizens of bodmin (that's all of them) would make sure that no horses and their affectionate grooms, entered the pub at the same time as our Denzil.

Funny you should mention rings Ruth, for one of the older landlords of the pub in the 19th century, was one of the churches bell ringers, and one foggy night, after he rang the bells, he disappeard, and was found days later at the bottom of the church well; a mystery to this very day.

I guess that leaves 2 options, Ray.  A really good bouncer (maybe a retired footballer) to keep horses out, or we could just move the place to Redruth or St. Agnes.

That's one wild and crazy country over there, Paul!  Maybe he saw the ghost and was frightened out of his wits.  We don''t want it to be too scary for the guests.
