Lawson Posts: 2310 Joined: 17th Jul 2008 Location: USA | quotePosted at 00:08 on 2nd February 2009 Gee, you have all been busy, since I'm friends with an gal whose brother goes around opening up restruants, particuarly in Las Vegas in the near past, and they have an kind of English restruant on the Gledoveer Golf Course near the Club house, I have an few suggestions, particularly because our Boy Scouts have worked for them in the past getting through High Schoolmu sugggestion would be..NO ducks please, unless it's "under glass" and eatable...I just as much see pictures of lurid wenchs of the night then see "ducks" on the wall... I like the idea of the "swear box" though..we could use more of those these days, history is nice, decor sounds good so far, host and hostess choices are good, I like some of the activites, but you all forgot one thing that is very "IN" right now and that's the outside "Herb Garden"...I can but remeber my early days and drinking St. Michelle Chapel wines and they were really cheap back then, but I liked them, particularly the Reisling, this place is near Woodin, Washington state, and they now make all thier dishes with herbal flowers on them and in them, particualry the salads..they have an six month ahead "reservation" list the last time called up..and since I first knew them, they have doubled the price of their bottles of wine also. I suggest an small "Hot Toddy" upon being seated to the patron's, and I've also seen Seattle's Knights Group that do medevial battle re-actments on horse, and jostling and what not, they have some very savage looking women in the re-enactment I might add..but absoultely "superb"...they are in loin cloths and fur an few of them, if not full mental body armour...now who we gonna get to do our "re-enactment" ..for the weekends? Since I have restruant expereince, I get to be the cashier, and main hostess "lady" for the club. We should grill all our own meat over an open pit you know, as well as side grills...suggested menu, upon sitting down "hot Toddy's"....appetnizers..Chicken (Liver) Brocettes with Grilled Onions or Turkey Sausages with Chutney Mustard ,,,Ceasar Saladw/rolls....English Beef Short-Ribs with Lobster and Citrus Butter, Roasted Autumn Vegtables (grilled and herbed small mediallion slices of acorn squash, sweet potatoes and white baking potatoes)..accompaning wines and spirits suitable... and for dessert...grilled necterines with Marscarpone(cheese) and Pistachios, or an Berry cobbler....and this should be served in "courses" with/during the entertainment...esp. the POEtry sessions. You can burn the lady later on maybe?..or her no good cheatin "ex" lover!... I suggest table lines. Ta-Ta! |

It's got it all - food, drink, festivals, history and scenery (it is in England after all), and I'm sure Diana's interior design will get us some recognition from English Heritage or National Trust or the National Registry of Historic Preservation or something like that. And we'll all be rolling in money, and we'll all have one another as neighbors! It'll be like dying and goin to heaven. My word!!!! lol

I think you should be the Pub Coordinator. And we may have to upgrade from pub grub to full service restaurant/catering. But the chef needs to be someone who can do authentic English fish and chips, with mushy peas, of course.

The thought of all this is making me quite dizzy and high with excitement. Anyway. I had better try to sleep now, another hard day at the office is forecast for later. goodnight all, and keep coming up with the ideas.
