Well Evey commented that I was changing her way of spelling. For example color becomes colour, neighbor becomes neighbour etc, you know what I mean don't you?

So whilst Chris and Sarah will decide what is right for them and the website, I believe we should not accept 'Americanisms' simply because we would eventually lose the 'England' factor. What do you think members?

I say that whatever country you are in, you should learn to speak and write the language of that country! Wink

Well hasn't the difference between us already been exploited here on POE Debbie? Hump day is a good example.

Do you mean, how one should post on POE? If that is the case, I say that the person who is posting uses the terms and spelling that they have grown up with, or are used to.

As you know, I am English but have lived in the States for 17 odd years. I still use English expressions, and English spelling, but I certainly don't mind when our American friends use American terms and spelling.

And of course, I don't mind doing a bit of translating from one to the other, if there are things people don't understand.

I'm with Sue on this one.

But do like learning the English expressions. I like how our differences bring us together. We all have a lot to learn from each other.
