Well, she sounds like she's doing an stellar job on her grandkids this Christmas vacation...and I'm glad I don't have to this year with battling this virus...as my right side feels "numb" and has since last week..but the blisters are gone now..completely. I look forward to better days ahead. I have one present to wrap today...and groceries for the salads tomarrow and I'm done pretty much..then some cooking. I have my hubby's birthday Dec. 30th. Then New year's Eve the next night. Grab some "crackers" for "popping" at midnight...I do beleive we'd miss all this activity if we didnt' have it...when it gets right down to it..and we have January to catch up in our rest on....read and an good book by the warm fire... if need be.

Hi Shirley!   I can't say that I have wrapped a single present yet.  Had them all for a couple of months though!!  Cooking will only start the evening of 24th and maybe I will be able to persuade the 2 grand daughters still with me to put up the tree and decorations tomorrow, lol.

Merry Chirstmas Urmi...hope its an good one for you!

Cathyml..hope you get that tree up before tomarrow...though many people aren't putting them up this year over here...I had neighbors do that an couple of years ago...but they had planned to fly out and were not going to be here..then we had an nasty snow storm hit...grounded them. This year they did outside thier house what I did inside my house...which is really an idea I got from some decorators on HGTV, Last year I gave one of thier sons an plate of cookies and some inside decorations for his room for helping me, but the has since moved out...or joined the military I think he said was what he was going to do..reminds me of the two boys that my son sold our Datsun to via the Baptist Church so they could go live in New York...I should of kept it..the next car was "totalled" when the Nelson's pulled out in front of me going through Damascus..many years ago..we have never seemingly recovered from that either for some reason. It has started "car problems" that have never been resolved and have been very costly to us also.... Wish that would change.

I am in here today to tell you all that here shortly I won't be in here as much as I have to slowly start picking up here in the house what I left off doing this summer. I have lots of painting to do...paid for the paint an long time ago..I have no stove in my kitchen either...so that needs replaced also...and the vent above it from an house fire some years ago, we put out ourselves. But I have been living in dire circumstances ever since then from that. The Reverand and his lovely wife Stephanie... have showed me what NOT updating and taking care of your house does for you...they can't sell their little one down the street..it sets empty form last summer when they moved out. I should not say its not taken care of ..as it is...but there is nothing in the house that is luxurious enough to catch the seller's eye. Though Reverands are not suppose to be known for their "big bucks" in life.God supposeldy fulfills thier needs through others .As far as my house renovating goes...for the most part it will probably be the last in my lifetime..as we go into retirement days. I see nothing particualry enhancing at this time doing in that any more,,retiring..but we leave that to " time" as to what does happen. I will tell you my goal right now is to replace all the flooring in the house and repaint it all and update things as I go. It has not been done in depth since we bought the house 32 years algo...and of course as we do it...it should cut down on an lot of work for us both in the days ahead and expenses..as I will have little carpeting in the house...so I don't have to clean it and wash it constantly..and I will go to area carpeting instead...that I can toss out from time to time. I want my upstairs more of an small sitting room off of an kind of Library setting dining room, which I almost have now, thanks to my grandfather and mother's small inheirtance many years ago...with two excutive tables in an L shape around one livingroom and one diningroom wall...with leather offce chairs instead of dining chairs. I was working on this last year when the daughter in-law was planning the 4-H camp week up in Washingotn State...whicih consumed much of her summer, in teaching classes in it and doing activites with the kids...followed by hubby's "Scout Summer Camp" there after. Another reason I have to get these things done when I have some help here...as the work easily piles up needing done. But anyway...this will leave my downstairs for the main livingroom which is easier access to people in wheelchairs and what not and that requires entering through the garage...which is why I at first had it fixed up as an "kind" of second family/party room at one time. Most the work around here is organization followed by the new flooring. By then hubby should be "retired" fully in ways. We needed my social security check to help do this work...pay off  the existing bills from raising my kids and grandkids from the wedding though today..and this Christmas Season. Barring few other problems for the next several years...we might break even at the end.I don't know what the nieghborhood will be like then...we have many houses up for sale in it right now...and many people not doing to much to help it retain it's glory from getting old and out of date....these crappy new houses plastered up in the area...no park...it is losing the original appeal in it's area "wealth" that at one time so much desired us to buy here. The city has never done anything for an park area out here...but then again the people work so hard to maintin jobs buying some of the  newer houses, they are never home. Niether of the original houses in our area that have went up for one million dollars each, have not sold. they were three car garage houses before contractors even thought of the idea for the more expenisve houses...but unlike these houses...there are no yards.. nor acreage to the newer houses. I see absoutely no "future" for the latest housing projects and of course with it..we lost our "view" of Mt. Hood...and our "open spaces" that made this an "country" feel..another thing that caused us to move out of the city.. that we wanted...to find it one block up the street now..I do not though blame the people for poor planning. In some ways its standard practice what has taken place here.  But I'm getting older now so maybe it won't make an difference here shortly. Anyway..I came in to say...here shortly you may not see as much of me...at least on an daily basis. Come in an say "hi" once in an while though. You might really like the peace and quiet in ways here in POE...all those long posts of mine too! I've got an reputation of being Gemini "talkative" I guess.

Happy Holidays...I start now in the last preparations for Christmas Day....Merry Christmas!...and your always welcomed to drop me an note. since you have my addy with the post card exchange....later!
