I could see where some of it needed to go I suppose..but it's hard to replace an high school diploma at times. |

I had to keep some of my furniture in storage until I can empty the boxes and organize it all! LOL James, that garden sounds fantastic! You'll have to take some pictures to show us. |

James, I think I'm getting carried away as well. Will you water mine for me, too? The hubby's not doing it:) Then I had to pick out a stone for my father's grave. An odd mix of emotions. He passed away in 2010 at 93. I had taken care of him since my mom passed away in 2000. Money has been tight so just now getting the stone. In the meantime, I just plant flowers for him. Shirley, I love your posts and today's had a line in it that was so well put and so very true. You said, "Strange how so many things seem so nothingness to others..... when it's not theirs." You talked about the diploma being thrown away. I had this exact experience when having to sell our family home. No one thought I should keep anything, but I did save some things. The clean out crew that came in was very insensitive and threw my mother's china, our "Sunday" dishes, out the back window where they smashed into a bin down below. It was awful. So I do understand your feelings. I've gone on way too long for tonight and have to get to work. Have a good day/evening everyone. |

It is so sad to think how hard the parents/grandparents (or you yourself) have worked to get whatever they had and how they cared for it, but the younger generation have neither the need or place for it. I suppose the answer is to dispose of it yourself before you go. Give whatever to the family members who would like to have it and then maybe rather get one of the charities/children's homes/shelters to remove the remainder. I must admit that the thought of it just being thrown into a bin gives me the shudders especially when there are people out there with nothing! We are putting stickers on the back of the things the children/grandchildren have said they would like to have - but I will probably make sure these are handed on to them before we die. Anyway something to think on! Having said all that I do wish you all a wonderful, happy day today
