Over here a baby shower is a get together for the mum-to-be, usually organised by her girl friends, and they bring gifts for the baby.  Do you perhaps call it a stork party?

I am so glad you had a "you" day yesterday Shirley, keep it up!! lol

Hi everyone, busy day today so just dashing through!!  Wishing you all a wonderful SundaySmile

I've never heard of anyone having a baby shower here.  Guess we haven't caught on to this idea.

Have a great day everyone.

Our youngest had one just before her 2nd was born a few weeks ago. Uptil then I wouldn't have known what it was. I expected them to put the baby in the shower ! ! !

A baby shower, or stork party (or tea) is quite common in SA too.

I guess we-all have been influenced by our American cousins after many years of being fed nothing but US TV programs.

Not a bad thing at all but more British programs would be welcome. We do get Top Gear, albeit 4 seasons old.

I'll certainly second that Syd.  Not that I am a particular fan of Top Gear! Just not "Men Behaving Badly" I can live without that one! lol  (Get enough of that on here)  ROTFLMAO

As a petrol head and a fan of comedy I do enjoy Clarkson and co, I must admit. They certainly liven up our Sunday evenings.

They seem to enjoy insulting everyone and now it has been the turn of the Mexicans who, I see on Sky, didn't take kindly to it.

Have a good week everyone and to those in SA try and stay warm.

Its freezing here at present and I think where you are Cathy much colder than where we are nearer the coast.

Bye

Hello everybody.  We also have bridal showers here, for brides-to-be.  And in order to be fair gender-speaking, sometimes workmates will throw a shower for a father-to-be.  Showers must have been a tradition in the US forever, because I'm as old as dirt and I don't ever remember not knowing what they were.
