Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 20:34 on 26th May 2011 Things are gettin better today so far. Even the weather...relatives back in Missouri missed the worst of last night...not to many towns got hit. One of our web people sticked his neck out to tell how what he is picking up right now via low frequencency waves...he feels outside weather maniputlation.. if not "earthquake" generating going on maybe. He's afraid to tell the truth...afraid of our Government hauling him off in an black van truck by the military.. or some such organization. Many of us are told to be positive and over-look the truth you see going on around you daily...it's not working. Truth is justified of it's own. Truth comes from God...all else seems to come from mankind...but anyway. I noticed many years ago beign back in the mid-west...they put little stock into their houses and what they own...they live to be comfortable but that's about it...they know any time these tornadoes can take it out...rather this year or five years later or 30 years down the line...that is why thier "families" mean so much ot them...they put thier stock in the gnerations of family. What was it my aunt on my dad's side said one time, when I called back there to see how she was doing....well, we lost $25,000 in an 15 minute hail storm, but we were lucky enough this year to have "crop insurance" at least to pay what it cost us to plant the field...sometimes we are not so lucky. I tell ya..go back there and you'll get an full "farmer's" breakfast too!..but her guys are big guys..... and they work sunrise to sunset..faming 1,000 acres...take all the boys. Not like the old days though....do it inside air-conditioned cabs on top thier tractors these days..listening to their tapes or the radio. Use ATV's and younger kids coming to get them... to get from field to the house for breaks now and then and to eat...but for the most part...out there from sun-rise to sun-set.. I think "farmers" give us "constant" in life. They put up with it all...and keep going at it...constantly. I hope they are smart enough to take some ground leveled off in Joplin, Missouri to put in an community storm cellar for people in the future days...sitting in your bathroom doesn't do it..when the house is taken down all the way to the foundation...and road asphalt is peeled off by tornadoes crossing the highway or country road. Our ancestors were smarter then the average "joe" these days seems to be. Tough "lesson" of life to have to endure by the people involved. I know my threads must sound kind of negative at times....but Imake them in hopes that someone out there is "listening" and will do something as they build these communities. Namely our cit planners, construction workers, and so forth...down the line. THEY make the intial difference in the lives of others. After that it's the awareness and "doing" of the people for themselves. Take an lesson and "move" your house out of danger if you live in an mobile home...there's an storm coming, or an flood... and your lucky to know about it and as the bible says..."heed the signs"....prepare. I go for now...they have moved this tree truck around back and forth... but don't see them cutting any branches so far...maybe in an different world then I am?...anyway...need to get going for now. Talk later. Has anyone gotten ahold of the some of the people that were doing the post card swap lately? |

I have found books of postcards in the bookstore and on line and sometimes in some gift shops. I don't think we always need to send a postcard from the area we live in. I think it is nice to get a friendly note in the mail and brighten someone's day. To me that is worth the postage. But just my opinion. If you are not on my postcard list and would like to be I would enjoy adding you. Send your mailing address via my profile email and I will reciprocate. |
