If you haven't already contributed to ensuring the survival of POE please think about sending a donation NOW or taking out Premier Membership. Have a wonderful weekend wherever you are |

I've been away from the site for a while doing a special project for work. It took so much time, I didn't have the chance to check in. Still working on it, but I have a little time in between assignments. Along with that, I've been shopping for our Memorial Day holiday and foolishly bought more plants for the garden resulting in my having to get them in the ground. I'm glad to see that it's up to 100 stars on POE now. I certainly hope and encourage everyone who can to make their donation to save this wonderful site. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. |

I have flowers in vases on the kitchen table, and it really does brighten up the room. I think I will do this more often, though I fear in a house full of men, I'm the only one who appreciates it. Still, I did host a ladies luncheon yesterday, and received many comments. It's going to be a good day, especially as my son in Korea has just contacted me over skype. |

Besides his computer use to be my Christmas gift way back when. Kids got an new phone today. Grandpa and oldest grandson go tomarrow to the Memorial Day singing celebration at Willamette National Cemetary with the "Scouts"...wonder if my mother will be there..as that's where she was laid to rest.. hope the weather is decent. Hi Ruth...isn't it nice to have an few spare days off though?...ah yes! Sue...they probably like the flowers also, even if they don't tell ya. Brenda..how' s your territory fairing on those storms...my brother/wife are right now in Missouri...and should be back next week she said. They have the best prospects for an good garden this year amoung us all so far....full sunshine backyard and lots of fertilzer and well tilled. I was talking to an gal in Texas the other day...bad drought there...so I told her I'd be happy to share couple of days of our surplus moisture with them right now...including no real bad storms with them also. Said she'd much appreciate it. Cathyml..just bought an book today on two guys on morotcycles and thier adventures traveling Africa. I've read several of those type of books...kind of use up time... and so far have enjoyed them. How else you think I learned that the "rings" on the bottom of the old time black cast iron pans for cooking was where they would turn them over an make perfect tortillas on or in some cases "crepes" and on other times campfire "pancakes". Had they made those pans without the rings...they could of never used them for that...which I guess was invented from an "chuck wagon" out herding cattle on the plains at one time. .....time quickly ticking away.... so better get going for now. |

Right now we're in sort of a heat wave. 90 degrees F for tomorrow, sunny, but a few days ago the tornado that touched down did terrible damage in the area south of me. We were very lucky here because it was not far away at all. Another smaller one hit north of me, but did less damage there. Thankfully, no one was killed. Tomorrow, or actually today now, we're planning to cook out for the holiday. It's going to be very, very hot, though, so I don't expect to stay out too long. I tend to wilt quickly in the heat. Have a good day, everyone. |
