It's really my busy time at work in July, so I've been working long hours and am too shattered at night to even look at the computer. It's great to see you both. xoxo

Been like forever since I've seen stuff like last night going on...couldn't hear it though...so it was mainly I think up around Mt. Hood. I'm about 30 miles this side of it. I'm into researching an bit in Kent co., England at the moment. Where Reginald Fitz Joycuse went from Bath and Wells to Kent Co.,One of the famous early "Templar Knights" families...and also connected to the Renes catherderal in France. That got me into looking over the data in general...when I ran across this Sir Thomas Henry Estridge of Scottow Co., Norfolk. ..this family came over during the time of the conquest..to Rutland and Derby counties eariler..moved to Norfolk Co., in the 17th century. What got my eye was his "crest"...it has the well known "Templar" Cross on it. Sir Thomas is in 1807...but he has long lines before him also...married the Dau of Robert Marsham, Esq of Straton Strawless, in Norfolk. (William Marsham (Markham) was William Penn's financial advisor when they aquired the "Quaker" state of Pennsylvania) Asyou know...Quaker Benjamin Franklin m. Read family has much to do with New England, Pensylvania and had been an quaker also. Asfor the Scottow name....they are in the Lawson family as Steptoe..and in New England as Scottow also. That name unites my Larkins with the Lawson back then into Jamestown, Virginia and New England....they both have marriages with the "Blackwell" family....and dealings with the Baoli family. But I get into others things as I go along...just this "Templar Knight" cross is so well known..I wonder wha'ts behind it with this fella in particular. I best geet going for today..my grand-daughter is here today while they finsish up the unpacking out at thier house...she decided late last night before we left she'd rather stay where it was "quiet" of an bit. Have an good day everyone!

Perhaps he carried it for Richard the Lion-hearted, as I think he was in the area at one time also...before dying....he went on an Crusade. |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 05:06 on 26th July 2011 Sally Burch still coming in?.....in this tale up above... the Durrant name....remeber the comdedian Jimmie Durrante...I do....well, my friend, Ann left me an letter with her family names in it...and besides Burch....one of the was Torquet. She said our families were traveling together. I found her family name in an picture....he was one of them that convinced the Cherokee to move to OKlahoma. I found an picture of them...the ladies in full..hooped skirts like any Royal European of the day back then...I think he was one of them killed later on perhaps as some of the Cherokee's fought the "Trail of Tears" and everyone connected to the idea. Do you think this name has anything to do with them being "Templar Knight's" as my relatives down there sure left notes of being Masonic Lodge affilated. As I said, I question if the name comes from the word "Turrent" for the flags they carried in Medival Days. I wonder if she would know. |

Did my check ever come in as of yet? It should be about 7 days now. I hope so. There is an article on the10 families that made the biggest difference to the world. The Planegent family was one of them....they said the short 300 years they reigned as Kings in England...more was done for the world to take us out of an era of fudelism and slavery/barbarism... and into progress toward Government and democracy and human rights and dignity... then at any other time in History. Another family was the Anjou family...one of the Planegents also by marriage and "Templar Knight" that helped to found them. |
