That's bad news Paul, I too hope all are well on the other side of the ocean.  Maybe Shirley will feel a bit better now too!

Karen...good for you!...I woke morning to an small dish of blackberries...I wonder if hubby picked some of ours out back before he went to work. It rained an bit this morning...things are wet here. I still haven't gotten more balckberries picked, I thought if we could get out there that I'd try to do up and small case of pints for over ice cream maybe. Leave me enough to do an cobbler also, but can't eat to much of this kind of stuff either. I also see where you can crush them and strain them and add the sweetened slightly juices to gravy made of  red wine and meat juices, with an tab of butter...and use it instead of an steak sauce...mostly for the Holiday Season. You can also do this with blueberries.

I haven't checked my mail as of yet Cathy...sometimes it comes in for me and other times it doesn't. Yeah...I think I'd celebrate by doing something "special" with others. I like it when the resorts have special packages for all..girly get togethers. As it can include reunions for mothers, grandmother, and granddaughters(over 15)...sisters and best freinds included...and be an truly delightful getaway for one day and overnight.

Ron, sounds like your getting better...was thinking of you this last couple of days and wondering how things were going. We would really miss you if you couldn't come in to POE and chat with us all.

James...your waiting for my post?...is that good or bad?...you know my brother's name is Jim...two streets over from me. Just celebrated his birthday and has his first wedding aniversay coming up. An Leo the Lion..he likes to "roar" about things somedays. But he can be an nice snuggly "kitty" at times also...just don't play no "cat and mouse" games with him...and you'll be fine. I hope he's enjoying the food I've been sending over here lately for him. We got an thing going for "fish. "We were going to have an fish dinner together...his wife and him and my hubby and me...on the BBQ out back. Well, ever since then we have been trying to get ahold of the "right" fish to do this with...because obviously if your wrapping it in layers of newspaper to "smoke" it.. as it cooks...it needs to be decent sized an priced well. They went running up to Cascade Locks and the lady was out of fresh fish that day...couple days later...he got one from his in-laws, but we weren't in town...so he cooked it..but not with the wrapping around it. So we are still working on it all. One reason I sent him over the Salmon Teriyaki Style with an package of berries for his birthday. It's really good, if after cooking it...cut it slightly down the middle and add an pat of butter and then put your sweetend berries with an little of the juice over it. Kind of an "fishy" story... if you buy it.........So your out doing something?...How's that pretty back yard going this year? You use miracle grow on it...we do on ours. Ours is about ready for another application of it also. Not to many more times to do this sort of stuff...maybe once more or so.

Sun coming out...I guess I should get going...I feel draggy tired today from all the extreme weather up and downs I guess...talk later on and everyone have an simply marvelous day..make the best of it!!!

Ron, I'm so sorry that you still have that chest thing going on.  Hope you're feeling better.

Same oh same oh here.  Work and sleep, but day after tomorrow I fly over to San Francisco with my sister-in-law and niece for a girls only trip for a week.  Woo hoo!  Can't wait!  Apart from a few trips to Flagstaff and Tucson for work, I've not been out of town since 2 years ago this month - our last trip to the British Isles.

Shirley, I wish I had your energy!

Hate to bug in here.......KRISSY.....ARE YOIU OUT THERE?

There was an guy on "coastotcoast" tonight...talking about Hurricane Irene...and the earthquake back east today...Mike Smith was his name and he founded the company "Accuweather". Noory was asking him if he thought there could be any chance that "Irene" could be the "superstorm" people say that someday will hit New York. He said there was an Low over Canada...that could if conidtions were right....take up some major interstate..but it was to early to know yet.

He asked people to go to "Radio Shack" and he said for around $25you can buy an invertor box to plug into your car to run small appliances off of and lap tops, wireless cell phones, gaming equiptment....and he recommended people get one before this storm hits. Because depending on how it hits...you could lose power in the big city's. I went to Radio Shack on line and looked around...I did not see any for $25...but an highly recommended one for $39.99. Maybe you should look into it. Apparently you can run an service cord from it for instance if you were on an close bottom floor...but ask about that...and if it would run an small type "college" refriderator also. They come in differnt wattages. His second concern for everyone was if you had an electric garage door opener..to figure out how to use it if the power goes out also. Then of course...prepare for it to come in advance.  Fellas...could you add anything to this with your knowledge?

The quake in Virginia today was an 5.9 mag...they have already had an afterschock....it was felt widely...there was an tiny one in New York and up in Maine also this afternoon...which has people asking...if this is some kind of weather modification because of the hurricane. He said he didn't think so. He made an few comments that I could hear Jim Berkland in opposition with him in saying that they can't be predicted....some lady called in and she said that she went to Coney Island yesterday and it felt very creepy there...she said instead of the ocean water lapping up like it ususally does...it was dead still...like an lake. Another caller called in and said he felt that the tornadoes of today...are being strengthen by the cell phone towers from his obsservations. Teh fella said that all he knew about this was that ..Yes, they have tried to push down the low frequency and cable singals in experiments toward the ground instead of in the air to see what kind of TV/radio reception people had....now you know why most likley Enviroemental Protection Agancy has been our here and they recently changed our underground cables...they told me that they can also throw out low grad radiation as in microwave pulses. I close this for now.

Krissy........ keep in contact with us as this goes over if you can, so we know your "OK".. Remember that it's easier if one person calls out to someone specific(rather then everyone trying to call each other)... that can report to many... so phone lines are not jammed for emergencies. Make POE your "significant other" and update your conditions here....tell your friends to use POE to see how your doing. They won't know until an couple days from now... if it's going up the east coast after it slams into the Carolina's. My own guess...those eathquakes today was the "force" that will keep it off shore, by about 50 miles.  Best of luck.
