Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 19:14 on 27th August 2011 It's an slow moving hurricane...15 MPH Cathml....and it's just getting out of North Carolina...more people probably come in here after it passes over...you can go to earthboppin.com...earthquake boards.. and Bill Silver Eagle..an "ex" air trafiic controller and Sheila are supplying us all kinds of maps and information there. Lots of military maps also of potential areas expected to flood, etc. It's spurned two tonadoes in North Carolina so far. Most the winds have dropped down to 85 MPH, but it can still cause havoc. We were talking about the weather channel guys...the more "wild" they can look in front of the camera, the better they seem to like it..lol. Don checked in also..says central California is having quakes near Hollister this morning...light damage there...one big picture window broken...stuff off shelves. Been cooking as I watch TV...so far have made small pizzas, then top the bottoms with scrambled eggs and ham and cheese and small green peppers...got my apple cake made, just served some warm with French Vanilla ice cream to hubby....we've been up so late last couple of nights due to the outside humdity...it didn't fall under 70 degrees until after midnight and woke up this morning to 65 degrees and 87 per cent humidty....lightening fires over on the east side of Mt. Hood from last night..Warm Springs Indian Reservation...one other area also. We should know more by late tonight or early tomarrow how things are going back east...so far it looks like typical wind related problems of roof tiles torn off and heavy rain. No where near the Hurricanes down in the Carrabeaian though...where every thing is simply devestated.Pres. Obama arrived last night late and it's in his area right now. As to the high rise buildings...it's an cat. 1 hurricane at street level and an cat 2 hurricane at top of the building level...take your pick.. according to the elevator...... Talk later on. Have an good day everyone. |

We expect the worst of it tonight between 10 pm and 3 am. The winds are picking up and it has been constantly raining for several hours now. I'm loving it! Can't wait for the lightning and thunder if any!! Hope Krissy, Diana and Rita Iton are all tucked in safe and dry! I'll be thinking of you as it moves through our area. |
