But there is the case of Dick's services tomarrow and I found an note on it today on the table...the way it sounded it is going to be one of those "Life memorial Celebrations"....and while I know they are usually not as eleborate as are funerals...people ususally send an modest plant or something...and sometimes I like those little keepsakes afterwards as an rememberance. Or so far, I've never seen anyone I've given out "discarded". So low on funds naturally as is the story of my life....I found an small ceramic leaf with four small birds on the edge of it...you could put candles or water into the leaf or about anything of that nature. I bought it, went by the store and bought some miniture daffodils..and an card and two small candles and arranged them all together it kind of made an nice centerpiece Hubby brings home the paper on Richard/Dick... with his kind of obiturary...and it says in big bold letters....in leui of flowers...the family requests an donation to the Cancer Society. The Cancer Society gets thousands upon thousands of dollars in my estimation...I have yet to see them save anyone's life...not that I don't wish they could. I buy my Susan B. Kimmon potted plants every year nearly that they use as an fund raiser. I can't walk the marathons they have these days. So now I am at odds as to what to do. I guess the proper thing would to just send the Cancer Society something and leave it at that maybe. I havet an headache right now...as I lost my sister today....and while I was all over looking for her...she was out having great time shopping apparently. I finally caught up withher about one hour later. Needless to say this could of been solved if she had an cell phone...but she doesn't and she can't afford one if she did have as to the montly fee's for one. I bought things today for Easter I guess you know...so that was not saving for my flooring I so desparately need....I feel like someone has it out for me on renovating my house in ways.I have also felt that way since day one on the family genealogy of my mother's family. I do beleive there is "someone" out there that has all hell bent ideas on anything that is of the French or Indian....my brother in-law was FRench Canadian. I realize that things were pretty "savage" in the days of our founding early Colonial America...but not everyone is "bad"...I have just as many reports of the Indians helping to save lives of white folks as I do those of scapling others. They all intermarried at times also. Many times I am not allowed by this... someone...to even mention our family....they simply knock off my posting the information...or make it illegiable.. Yesterday I went to look up Col. Clement Read...and there is an short note on it by the genealogical web site that posted his information....as to the proper presentation of one's genenalogy...and it does not include calling one of the people such an "smart ass" that they went elsewhere to live so blantly speaking...and he sites four lines that he said is very un-becoming of any genealogist...to the person that did this work ...in much so that he wondered if he should post it at all, but it looked particuarly well documented...this person is selling an CD for 39 dollars of their work. I went to look up this Reade person...and find that he is also an line of "Pocahontas's descendents. He had accordingly to Kegely's Virgina Frontier reference book, been with o the Indians that were building the Forts along the frontiers just before the REV..War broke out...but even though she mentions William Baylis in her name index, it is not mention specfically he is amoung them by name. You kind of have to assume he's there. William Baylis is thought the name that Tuecumsh used as an white man's name back then...all the Indians had one...so they could be compensated for thier military service. At least I now know that I am not the only one getting some contations of the negative kind in my work. At any rate....I have much to do yet tonight if I attend service this tomarrow. It's been an stressful day to me. Nothing really all that bad...but nothing all that good either...I understand that my grandson wants to stay over tonight...so talk to you all later on. |

We're a bit south and a bit inlast so we're expecting some serious rain tomorrow. Might bring the lawns back to life. Hopefully no damage or death will result. Have a good night (or day if you're somewhere far east or west of us) |

It is quite cool tonight as well, a bit wintery! Had to go and dig out a jersey! Hi all POElanders, hope you are enjoying a great weekend |

Our thoughts and prayers are also with our American friends from Alabama in the south to Ohio in the north, hard to image what such destruction is actually like. |

Hope you survive the storm Cathy. Strangely enough even though we'[re 40 miles from the coast we've had only rain, and not too much of that, but no wind. Tomorrow might be interesting as the storm moves a bit further south before going back to the ocean. There has been flooding from the far north of Natal right down to south of Durban. Some folks have been evacuated to shelters and have lost their possesions. Such a shame. I hope someone helps them out. Australia and the US are also having extreme weather andn our thoughts go out to all those affected. My son told me there's been some heavy rain in London today but nothing dramatic. Stay well all.
