Thanks Jason. As of today down 9 lbs and lost 1 1/2 inches off the waist! All since Feb. 23rd! I'm proud of myself. I've done good! Smile

i came across this story to-day which i found very interesting as iread a bit about the american civil war --i remember seeing  the picture a few years ago in a magazine.i hope the link works.

 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2113089/Former-Unidentified-Civil-War-soldier-spotted-Uncle-Dave-family-Library-Congress.html

thanks cathy, try the above link

Made the link clickable for you James but did you know that you can do it very easily in future by highlighting the link to copy it, and then clicking on the 'solid' link bottom right (next to the tree and smiley icons) where thereafter another window will show, and where you paste the url into the to bar, click on insert and bingo! Try it sometime, you'll be amazed! lol

since we moved the clocks an hour ahead last night....everyone seems to be "sleeping in" around my house. I have no idea how long the grand-daughter stayed up, I found the rements of left over pizza though this morning. I listened to oneo fth emost interesting shows last last night with Art Bell's "Somewhere in Time"repeat broadcasts, I think they said it aired Feb. 20, 2002...the guess was the band leader of the group called "the animals" ...(House of the rising sun")and they covered everything, from when the Beattles were jsut coming out to John's death, to Elvis's impact and keep the "Blues"alive through history, to the death of his friend Jimmie Hendrix...to the Pine Ridge Reservation incident..to where he lived an an unique house there. I've heard of the shaman "Rolling thunder" that he said often counceled Jimmie Hendrix, of whose surname I am curretnly doing genealogy work on in Tenneessee...from in the area of the Six Nations prior by legacy. I guess that Hendrix's mother had been ran over when he was younger by an car an killed...he never forgot her "roots". He wroteabout his life, as he had been with him two days before he died. He said he investegated his death...and wouldn't tell us with out reading his book, but perhaps he got slipped something to take him out prior, his then girlfriend committted sucide an day or so after his death also. they talked lightly on the role the FBI and the CIA play in keeping singers "cornered" in what they do.. as to if they are to involved with changing the politics of the times in the country over here. Was just an real interesting show. He mentioned many of the night clubs in London most these then buddying artist use to visit to see each other. An bit about their lifestyles also. Hope your all having an good day. It will be an fast one with everyone sleeping  in today.....I liked that song..."House of the Rising Son"...Art said that he was in over there an disjockey for the airwaves in Vietnam military service(air force), and that the "rising son" many of the soldiers took to be SE Asia...and the song turned into for many...an association with being sent over there. It pitter patters rain this morning outside...but we need it for our flowers this spring. Talk later.

In coming Solar Flares recently have taken thier toll on my health also. Reading much about Japan's memorial of last year's quake.Still getting incoming ear tones and effects on me physically. Must go.

(Because the Lawson's were against slavery in the Civil War, our Nathan Lawson was hung by an vigilanty group called the "Bushwackers" in Kentucky. The Baptist Cedar Creek Church and the Bracken Baptist Association broke up just before the civil war broke out and of course, the JOhn Brown with them in this area, is the John Brown on the Kansas-Nebraska line with my mother's ancestry in their 50th weddign anniversay photos. One of their descendents lives in west Portland that I've talked to prior.)
