...as I lay on the sofa watching Anthoy Bourdain in Baja, Mexico...off the top of the house comes an 30 foot section of rain gutter. Boom!.... Scared me.... It's getting freaky around the house these days...so I looked to see what it's doing outside...just raining....nothing spectacular.. and not anything to take down an house gutter this large...I wonder what's going on.  Up comes hubby..."can't do anything about it now..to dark outside" and he opens the door and there's part of it bent down across the entryway...he says you can still get in and out of the house, don't worry. ...Um...OK...if you say so.  But tomarrow night it's dinner and off to Scouts...so wonder what he has in mind to repair it. We had at last count...12 lightening strikes out where my kids live tonight, but nothing here....and Inoticed on the weather they were starting to issue river heights fro flooding...not good...not in June. Weather pattern needs to be going west...not up from the south. I go back and listen to" coast to coast" tonight and hope nothing else happens. Reminds me of the day I walked outside and the front porch fell off...literally...these occasional " bolts" here and there don't do the trick of holding things together much after some 35 years. Enjoy your celebration Vince!

Our luck is not good. Stuart and I found a great vantage point for the parade this afternoon. We were in Horse Guards Rd just 4 rows of people back and had a clear view of the route until a marching band came and parked itself right in front of us.

We had a great view of the bearskin hats and not much else.

Grrrrrrrrr. How annoying to be so close and not even get to see the Queen.

Fortunately the fly past of planes was in the sky (of course) so no one could block our view with a band.

I hope all POEsters had a good long weekend (those in the UK) and that the coming short week won't be too stressful. I am moving to Kent tomorrow then next week to Sussex, Somerset and Yorkshire with a stop in Oxford along the way. (Hi Ron).

Good night all and sleep well.

Ok, so he's one day ahead in the celebrating....Oh, I forgot to mention that tonight on the coast near Agate Beach...where we ususally like to go near Newport....an "dock" floated in from Japan..the tusamai of last year...it's HUGE!....they are calling in people to decide what to do with it. They are forwarning people if it floated onto the beach, it could float back out...not to get around it during high tide. It just towers around this man reporting it on the news tonight.  So far it's the biggest thing I've heard them mention floating in. Weather might hold out for the Jr. Rose Parade tomarrow but they are thinking possible early morning showers for the Grand Floral Parade.... Good thing I can watch all this on TV.

You can see an picture fo the above 66 foot dock in earthboppin.com   thread. Let my cats out today, whom are inspecting the roof gutter epsiode...cut right through my lilies out front too...just runined this summers landscaping in the front yard. I have my grandson here this morning....complaining of stomach pinching...we think that means cramps maybe...I had them last night and havent' even been outside the house to pick up anything that would cause it. Did I mention the 19 year old in Arizona that was doing an little "pot" and drinking with freinds when they arrested herboyfriend for DUI...hauled him off.... so she went to some other freinds house... angry and did an bit more drinking over there....around midnight she left their house with her little 5 week old son asleep and placed him on the roof of her car...said her goodbyes, crawled in her car and took off....they found her son in his infant carrier in the middle of the street intersection unharmed...she has now to go an pick up up from the Arizona Children's Division. She had apparently forgot he was on the roof of her car....such are 19 year olds these days. Police report.

An 49 year old Beaverton, Oregon divorcee was impressed with her found e-harmoney mate..he seemed well educated charming, and kind...an retired dental doctor...she had been an dental hygenist...they had lots in common...on the fourth date out they shared hor d'oeures, wine, an few puffs of pot...and sex. The woman looking for an husband... ended up with gential herpes instead...after enduring repeated outbreaks of the painful disease...she filed and was awarded by the courts..... $900K for her pain and suffering.

Anyway so goes the local news these days in the newspaper.Elk use to advised me to stop reading the paper...as it never had any good in it to read.  I see some sun out there....how nice...but have lots to do so better get going for the day...have an good one everyone.

Good morning all. Its a gloomy wet morningn in Kent. What a pity. We had planned some outdoor activities for today. Ah well, maybe it will clear up later.

Interesting report Shirley, about the woman who left her baby on the roof of the car and had it fall off in an intersection. The self same thing happened under similar circumstances in Cape Town, South Africa 3 or 4 days ago.

Some people! Just can't understand them being so irresponsible.

Have a nice day all.
