I slept in this morning recovering from last night's starlight Parade. Some famous fella in South Africa...was 61 years old and ran an animal preservation area passed away in Johansberg at 61 from an heart attack..first name was Athoney...don' tknow how to spell his last name without lookin gat it again.  He was amoung those whom went into Iraq when it was invaded to try to save the zoo animals there also.

We had belly dancers in the parade last night guys., the Star Trek storm troopers, several scottish bands, and one band was playing the theme from "Ghostbusters" and I haven't heard that one in an long time...Pirates of the Carbbean... Square dancers, Itailian singer's from an club, Holloween group, Queens of festivals from all kinds of small towns..rodeo courts. Sailing ship clubs from several cities along the coast and the river also.  You name it..it showed up last night...even several lighted dragons.

Good morning everyone. OK...good afternoon everyone. Smiles*

It was cold and damp but we were chuffed to be out there watching the river pageant. It was not the best weather for photography and the Queen seemed to disappear just as the barge came past us. We couldn't see her at all so we thought maybe she'd gone inside to the head or something.

We'd got ourselves a place at Vauxhall from where we had a good view but there were thousands of people there. After the pageant ended we tried to get to Vauxhall station to get a train back to Raynes Park but there were so many people trying to get into the station we had no chance.

We decided walk in the direction of Clapham Junction and maybe get on a bus somewhere along the way but all the busses which came past were full. We walked in the pouring rain for about an hour before finding a bus with space on it to complete the trip to Clapham. Once there it was a doddle getting to Raynes Park but we were rather wet by that time.

Anyway, a change into dry clothes, a cup of hot coffee and a sit down revived us. Later on a couple of beers completed the revival. It was great being out there even though it was damp and cold. Certainly a once in a lifetime event and I don't regret doing it. I couldn't help thinking that my wife would not have coped with it had she survived long enough to get here. Just as well things panned out as they did.

Hopefully on Tuesday we can get to the city to watch the fly past and get back here without having to walk half the way.

Hope you all had a good weekend. Bye.
