Hello everyone.

Sorry the weather is being so unkind to you Syd, and really hope the sun will shine for your trip to the Isle of Wight.  Hope you are enjoying England ... in spite of the rain!!

Hi everyone!  Been away for a long weekend in the African bush - wonderful, peace and quiet - well mostly!!  Saw some great animals, did quite a lot of walking and took loads of photos.

Have had some serious catching up to do the last couple of days - but think I am now on top of everything again and back to POE!!

Hope everyone is very well and enjoyed the Celebrations!  Sorry I missed them on TV!

Syd I am really sorry the weather is being unkind to you and really hope it turns around now the long weekend is over!  You need some warmth before coming back to the cold!!

Good morning James...yes, it's raining herre also...you people over there need not feel alone right now as to the rain. The Rose Parade fleet of ships came in yesterday amid thier welcoming sprays of colored water in the Williamette Water...and they had the Jr. Rose Parade yesterday also..which saw no rain. Cut roses and flowers are arriving by the millions this morning to start making the rose parade floats for the Grand Floral Parade this weekend. Actually feeling better today...as for myself..

Talked to my sister in-law last night...she says they asked her to come back where she had been working as an nurse, at least part time...she's excitied about that one...it's giving her an future. Thinks it might even help her speech, she finds out if the radiation treatments did the trick and it's completely gone or not by the end of this month. She owes massive amounts of money right now, has her worried. She only has to pay 20 per cent, but its way over $100,000 she owes. Hoping when she gets off the steriods next week, her speech will improve also. There ought to be some way to help such people with the enormous and massive medical bills. She's not the only one dealing with it all....as far as cancer goes.

Syd...find someplace with an fireplace in it and some good scenery....it  might help until the rain goes away...don't forget an cozy pub. Been looking at your posted pictures.

Cathyml...Good to see you back, was wondering why we hadn't heard from you as of late...hope all went well. I think at times that "getting away" is good for us all....we need our vacation now and then. Mine's coming up and would love to do something besides all the work needs done around here.

Good morning marjorie.....hope your day is well....I think of you often as we have the Pope family in an Lawson line...and this gal is an member of the Colonial Dames of America.

I'm still working on my freezer out back, it got to sit most of last night with baking soda in it before I wash it down later today, plug it in and start transferrring food again, but have to go an see my sister today...she left her coast here the other day. You would think in June she wouldn't need it but not so with this rain. With no rain gutter on my house right now watching it drip off the roof...strange to see these days...kind of like not having seat belts in an car....we used to never have them, but it's been an long long time since then. I can remember as an kid in the very hot afternoon's and quiick thundershower to cool things down, it was neat to stand under the roofs and let the warm water cascade all over you..in an bathing suit.. Helped to cool you down on an hot blistery day of sun and heat.  Gave an wonderful fresh smell to the air that would cuase us to throw open all the windows to smell it also. All excited, we'd come in and take an bried shower again...before going to bed. Slept so good from it all. Morning come would again be an another pretty clear and fresh morning on the patio for brekfast...skies clear.  I best get going I guess...taking over some apples for her also, see if she'd like to make something out of them. Already peeled, cut and ready to use in an food restruant sized can. Circulating food cans by date as I do the freezer also. Sharing the older ones to make ready for the new ones with dates good until 2014 and 2015 on them...be ready for anything that might happen by this winter and that infamous date of Dec. 21, 2012...when the Mayan callendar starts over again. Though I must have to admit...my mother taught us that storing food for winter was the "biblical" thing to do..... according to wise King David. Though it seems an natural thing to do... to prepare for over winter every year....and it's summer garden growing and harvest  that requires putting up the food. I talk later on everyone...have an good day!  (I bought half an case of garbonzo beans...they are quite the thing I hear to french fry as an appetizer with califlower and fresh green  string beans these day...they have nutty flavor french fried I understand with an lot less calories then regular nuts have...then you make an simple mayonaise dip for them.)

Marjorie....I only do about 40 per cent these days of what I use to do everyday. It tires me out and indeed I've had more then one doctor tell me to slow down. My cardilogist demands it of me. So this morning, I went to an angel site and read an short angel story to feel an bit lifted up in my spirit. A woman was wondering if she should spend her last dime and dollar on corrective shoes or an snowsuit for her toddler, who needed both...and within the day both arrived at her doorstep from others giving her what she needed, without even asking prior...and then an man showed up in her kitchen...scaring her, but when she looked in his eyes...she lost her fear and felt an deep and warm universal sort of love and compassion...as he told her that he was an messenger from God...an angel...sent to remind her that we are all being watched over and helped everyday...to not worry. then he dissappeared in front of her...she knew it was an angel visiting....an it never leaves her mind of the caring love of God. ... Nice morning story..heh? I am an angel collector of an sorts over the years also. Learning about them fascinates me and they come in so many ways as angels in collecting them also. I have cement angels, tin angels, stuffed angels, crocheted angels, doll angels, animal angels, ceramic angels, and I thin maybe some "spiritual" angels also. I have numerous books about angels also. Not all are fluff and happiness either...some kind of scare me into being an better person...but for the most part..they are loving and kind...and indeed are messengers that "God" is watching over me through the messeages they deliver to me.

See, it was raining when I came into the web site...now there's an ray of sunshine coming through the window. Good morning everyone.
