I know Sue..it's not easy some days is it..went through this with an very dear freind..we had to laugh some days..caused we'd cry otherwise......Keep fighting and win... Here's some news for you...

Dr. Brian Druker of Oregon Health Science University and two other sceintists whose research has helped transofrm cancer treatment will share one of the richest prizes in medicine and biomedical research. Along with Dr. Peter Nowell of the University of Pennsyvania and Dr. Janet Rowley of the University of Chicago, and Dr. Druker... will receive the annual $500,000 prize for their research work next month...the New York Medical Center called the trio "visionary scientists" whose work has given help to cancer patients around the world. Nowell's work shows how cancer could be in part an genetic defect, as did Rowely's work with leukemia, Drucker used earlier work by the other two to develope an lifesaving treatment for chronic myeloid leukemia, that targets the bad cells without harming the good cells.

(which we may have something here... if so called "aleins" can as stated by this lady on her death bed find herself cured of her cancer from one of thier visitations...via through an hospital window...as they also are known to deal with DNA work apparently.) Dr.s above apparently took this problem down to the chromosome adnormality levels in the body for their research work.

I don't want you to think I am fishing for sympathy, I know that compared to others on this good (but frightening) earth that are suffereing WAY more than I am. I just want to let you know that reality of everyday life for me going through chemo and radiation treatment.

I had to buy a walker yesterday as I can't walk without falling to the left. I think the chemo has exaggerated my virtigo.

I look so funky with my thinning hair and walker. Yeah, I look like I'm abuot 80.

Long day again yesterdy. Spent over four hours at the Oncologist.  Platelets were 73, they like them to be above 100.  I so didn't want to cancel another chemo, with the end in touching distance.  So he told me that because  I was 'YOUNG and HEALTY' he would go ahead with the infusion. YAY! BIG HAPPY DANCE.

ONE MORE HIGH DOSE TO GO!

Next appointment will cover two days. I will get the infusion on one day, then the Doctor will talk to my Radiatoin Oncologist and decide how long the radiation and chemo will be (5 or 6 weeks), then the next day I will see the Radiation Oncologist for an appointment and find out what they decided.
The Doc says I won't start to feel better until about six weeks after the last infusion, but he did say my hair should start growing back during that time . Something to look forward to.
