Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 22:27 on 25th April 2013 I'm exhausted right now...but the groceries for this week were bought this morning and I just almost finsihed off the garden planting...I still have 120 white onions to plant...I planted about 50 of the red ones though. six volunteer Swish Chard plants (baby sized) that wintered it through the winter...and...2 pear tomato, one cherry tomato, threehuge type beefy tomatoes...three green peppers, one orange pepper, one red pepper...six yellow neck squash, 5 zucchini plants, 2 cumbumber plants, 6 cantaloupe plants, two new stevia (herb sweetener), and am taking time out for some lunch. I'm drinking an lemon Ice tead right now. Everything so far is watered in and fertilized too...so anything else I plant is playtime. No green beans or corn, but can buy them in 3 pound bags frozen for less then what I can grow them, but you never know. Planting season can now extend another two months pretty much. Gotta get something up for any mild frosts though...though hubby kind of said "no" and he gets the weekly weather report from the state agricultural division guy. So they must be contemplating an warm spring this year. he gets both long range and weekly reports. I hope i do get an good bounty..so it can be shared with others. I looked up black rice today...$1.57 an pound, so like what makes it cheaper to buy?....they listed it as an less costly product for people to buy..I sure didn't see that..it was almost $1.00 over Batsami and Jasmine rice. I take it that it's very colorful to put into Sushi....and with green onions perhaps. But anyway...I went looking for it, just to see if any of our stores carried it. Do any o fyou guys have an "Rice Paddy" out back in the yard? One area in my back yard comes mighty close at times...but it don't stay that way for to long. I'm hungry..so going to go have some quick lunch of some kind. Take an bath maybe and get into some clean clothes...start chainging beds for my sister this weekend..if I don't also rest an bit before going on to what needs done next...James..you sound busy also...Rick, things thawing out?....rest of you doing things around the house also....talk to you later on. |

So we went an looked an lawn mowers for an bit tonight. Only requirement I have is an grass catcher comes with it. I enjoyed my chinese dinner tonight...and as I told him, tomarrow I will have my sister here..whom never wears her false teeth....so it is there's not an lot she can eat without them...and she dones't like fried shrimp either. My fotune cookie kind of said.."hang in there. We are talking tonight about the Boston bomber....someone came up with 17 questions they'd like explained...I have two of them...where was the youngest brother for 34 days his sister says he was "missing"....and his older brother's wife made mention everything was "OK" until Misha came on the scene...who the heck is "Misha"? Associated Press news releases. With that I go now..... Have an good evening everyone! |

Your back shouldn't be hurting though...along with an cough...so take care. by next week it may be an thing of the past. Make yourself some homemade beef broth and sip on it. Suppose to have saved many an person in the olden days. Use to fed it to babies also when the mother couldn't nurse for some reason. Your ruhbarb receipe sounds good. Well, hubby said before going out the door, think I'll go get one of the mowers on sale when I get home tonight...sounds like an good idea. Hi there Cathy...I was watching an program about the African Rift area last night...they were standing in it...that would scare me, I mean it looked like it was all sand. They were doing an show on lost civilzations...history channel. With satelitte ground imagery, there's no stopping to what they are finding under all the sand in Africa and the Middle-east...kind of interesting, last place dated back to 11,000 BC...the earliest yet to find mankind in an civilized town area...it predates the Pyramids by 7,000 years. Talk later on..yep..Have an good weekend everyone! |
