Further north and a city airport, I can only think of Nottingham, not sure what it was famous for though. If Nottingham is correct more research will be needed.

I was associating the feline clue with the US Tomcat aircraft, but I think I'm off course as that didn't appear until th 70's. I'm still searching for ideas John Smile
