Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 10:44 on 3rd July 2015 This weather is for the "pits" as they say...another fire started, this time at Maryhill across from Hood River and it's on the Washington State side also. Ok, I haveat present 2:14 AM...you know what I'm doing right now?...it's not coming home from partying....it's called washington clothes..particualary the heavy blanketsand sleeping bags fo rth eup coming over-nighter in the tipi. By Sunday it's suppose to be 100 degrees, today was 97...to many days in an row and even my air conditioner can hardly take it all in. I'm quite worried about this year's fireworks. Might be the year to put your 50 inch TV set out in front of the garage and watch them on it. You can see it's getting to everyone, cause no one wants to do much...besides you stay up all night doing what you'd normally do during the day. I can't sleep in to much tomarrow either as I have to go an pick up my sister for July 4th. I might have to end up buying another air condioner also. I just checked my house, it's 80 degrees inside and it's 75 outside...and my air conditioner is set at 71 degrees...so I through in the house fan on our furnace...so it can get the outside air inside when it does cool down...but it's suppose to be 99 degrees tomarrow. My poor yard...let's not talk about it....I tried today and yesterday drenching it....it got places in it so dead, it's down to the dirt looking now....I watered it the day before and fertilzed it lightly this morning and kept up wiht the water in hopes it would soak into the soil. Do they make "grass" toupee's for yards looking skimpy from dead grass?...It looks like someone was playing an bad game of golf and chipped the grass out in little patches all over...there's an run going on icy cold watermelon at the store...hot dogs also. I have no idea if they have any beer left. Ice so far is "holding"...but the weekend is just starting. I better get going an see if I can get some sleep...I've done about 5 or 6 loads so far. Furry blanket, comforter, three small blankets, my clothes and some towels...and have an sleeping bag yet...it can wait until tomarrow. I might go buy the other one I need for the camp-out. If they don' t use them for sleeping that night, they can as an softer topping over an "cot"...I got lessons tonight from hubby on how to set up an "cot"...very interesting...reminded me of an switch blade knife kind of. Three moves and the legs fold out and it's all nice an flat and you finish off the bars on each end...Walla...your DONE...it was impressive! Sure beats tryin gto blow up and twin size mattress...to here it sizzling and deflating from not trimming your toe nails sooner...nope, with an "cot" if an rattlesnake tries to get in bed with you ....you stab it with your toenail and throw it over your head and out the door immediately. Of course taking along an heavy hammer is permitted...take this...Bam Bang Whallop...so now I go for tonight...enjoy your morning...I bought mega muffins for breakfast...they are sitting by the stove in the kitchen...coffee hubby makes...Talk to you all later on. |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 06:08 on 5th July 2015 Well..it's kind fo so so..so far...we opted out of going to Sandy for the fireworks..we have both been busy today for the most part....and it's so hot...it was only 95 today, but the humidity was high for these parts...and an new fire..near Mt. Adams, sent smoke the west side of Mt Hood most of today..last I heard 75,000 acres and going strong...winds carried the smoke upwards...but I don't know how the fireworks are going in some areas...should be "dandy fine" up in Corbet and that's all it needs to be for the in-laws. We have had their ungodly wind for days now drying everything out, blowing the place mats off my patio table. I gave my neighbors my miniture orange tea rose plant tonight with the heart in it and the all american color theme to it. It's so dry out on the table that how long she can keep it alive will be an sheer miracle. Tomarrow 98 degrees...and no rain until next weekend...and maybe only one day at most...they haven't went any further in forcasting. An small town in Eastern Oregon burned up today from an grass fire over there. I can hear fireworks going off in the direction where my kids probably are tonight. Tywana goes all out being hispanic...and she's dying I understand..her ulcer in her stomach isn't healing and they don't know quite what to do next for her that will result in an cure...they best getot working on it real soon though if she wants to stay around alive to see all her kids grown. I finally broke down and bought another smallair conditioner for my back bedrooms...the bigger one is OK in the living/dinind room area..but doesn't quite get to the back bedrooms...so I have an fan in the front of i it helping it to get to the hallway and disperse into the bedrooms better. Got it in my grandson's room...they said Friday last..one store alone sold over 400 air-conditioners...if you want one they expect them sold out in 10 days time...from all the stores locally. my sister an I went to an hamburger fast food, that was like our "place" in town during the 1950's...and some of theri family were our neighbors and we had an bacon cheeseburger for old time sake today. It was back then kind of our redition to the TV show of "Happy Days". Hubby was in the back yard doing something most the day...but he took some time out to go to the marine center to see if they had some life vests for the grandson in the boat this year..since they've been growing, didn't come across any he liked apparently. I made us an steak dinner tonight with potatoe salad...green salad, onion bubble bread and strawberry shortcake...he came out with an icy cold beer and I couldn' thelp it...two swigs...it tasted "great" with the hot day outside. I passed an guy in the store earlier eyeing over an case...and I said..go ahead,, it's an "hot" holiday this year. He was carrying it out as I wen taround the isle the other way after vitamins....my hubby's pysical tests says he needs an Vit D..1,000 suppliment. Mine probably says I need an zipper on my mouth to stop eating..... With that I better get going I guess. Yep that's gotta be Tywana..it's on going non-stop so far. I sent her over one "flag cake" and one "grand finally" blockbuster firework to finsih her show tonight...cost me an pretty penny. Talk later on. |

I might add that I have posted more than 18,000 times, James has posted over 25,000 times, you have posted over 3, 000 times. Look under your avatar where it states... Posts: 3442 in your case. I don't know who has posted most times, but one thing for sure Shirley is that YOU are Queen of the threads in terms of the length of each one. Well done and keep them coming! |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 04:30 on 6th July 2015 I just lost my post again...it's irritating at any time....and an sign apparently of windows 8 with both keyboard and touch to it...it can't keep the web site your in with out bouncing from one type of direction to the other. All my games...if I'm looking like I might win them..it bounces out or it freezes on me. Any long posts are most often deleted also. So you really can' t say much...and it's bad to spend the time posting to lose the whole thing if it's an long post. I went to finish off the story of the Cana family..lost it...jus tlost my post abou tmy nephew over in Englandand wondering where he's at now. When it goes out of keyboard mode and into the touch screen...most the time I can' tfind an way to get out of it...if I'm playing angame of solitare...it stops letting me play it until after I hit to long an time...so I could never win anything if I did play for money on-line..which I never have. It's kind og like being with an "bimbo". I've had about 5 hours of sleep over last night, sister is back at her house again....while my brother gets "injected" from time to time with King Henry VIII...she does with Thomas Wosley....I think because they are not strong willed personal people, so they get an walk-in spirit attached to them instrad...not good ones either. "Satan" amd hjis secretary so as to say....as Red Elk said...one by his Government, the other by his desire to play God supreme. I guess I go for now...the only good part of July 4th was Weight Watcher's 100 calorie Dark chocolate raspberry ice cream bars. It was not an super spectacular July 4th this year...and it kind of started last year to telll you the truth. People for the most part stayed home and did yardwork...the stores clean out their flowers and nursery stock at bargain prices....cause everyting is more or less wilting into death right now. Yu can't save them hardly even with fertilzer and constant water...we ar enot this type of an climate. Hydranges are sitting all over burnt and hardly growing at the stores. I picked up an red rhodie for one third price of it's normal...now if I can keep it from dying. |

Why don't you try writing your post into 'Word' first and then copy it to the POE site, maybe that will help? Hi to all POEsters wherever you are |
