Hi Laura and a warm welcome to POE. How lucky you are to have a cottage in one of the most beautiful areas in England. If I had a chance to visit I would surely want to stay there. |

I would just like to point out that it was not just about advertising their business within POE, but also helping to support the biggest England website on the net bar none! There are of course plenty of other options within the POE database for accommodation in said area, and if you book securely online via this website it will be cheaper than going direct to the accommodation, saving a considerable amount of money!

As a "private citizen" member of POE, I urge you to remain a member of POE and contribute posts often to the various forums! Your knowledge of the Lake District will, I'm sure, be invaluable! I am sorry to have missed the banter, my internet has been down for a couple of days. Rob, I have a brother in Ohio. There are some nice spots over there in Michigan. It's so nice you get to spend some time in Cali too. San Diego is especially dramatic. And yes, I agree it was quite fun driving in England and I will do stick-shift again. (Dave, I wasn't complaining I promise!) I'm so looking forward to it! :) John, I will look up the Peak District, Norfolk Broads, Cornwall and New Forest now. Thanks again everyone for all your help and kindness!! |

Takes time to get used to changing gear especially when the stick is on the wrong side ! ! ! No matter what you drive, take care and have a wonderful visit. we all look forward to some pics when you get the chance |

Michigan has some pretty dramatic coastline, especially along northern Lake Michigan and the whole of Lake Superior (the Pictured Rocks formations are spectacular!). Where in Ohio does your brother live? And John--what do you mean that the stick shift is on the wrong side? Seems perfectly natural to me!
