Hey Rob, my brother lives in Wadsworth, OH. He is a gemologist, which has him flying to Egypt and Israel to buy diamonds. Which seems a considerably interesting job for living in a little suburb of Ohio. I have been to Lake Michigan, it was quite pretty.

I have driven a stick shift for 16 years and I love it. I can't stand waiting for my car to decide when it wants to change gear, you have no control. But shifting with the left hand will take some getting used to. I heard that cars will soon be only available in automatic, they aren't going to make manual anymore. Maybe that is just for the states, it just seems so lazy. And sorry for the term "stick shift", I do so like English terms for things.  I really like that a "hood" is called a "bonnet". It is so dignified. I have been watching "Top Gear."

Dave, you will have to post some pictures of your trip. Isn't the weather pretty reliable in the summer in England or does it rain all year?

Take no notice of him Laura because the only 'tripe' we get on POE is from James (lol) and he hasn't showed his face for a while (probably yawning over on FB)

Laura: Both of my kids live within 50 miles of your brother, my son and his family in Oberlin and my daughter and son-in-law on the far north-east side of Cleveland--small world! I imagine your brother's recent trips to Egypt have been a bit more dangerous due to the political upheaval!

I don't know--I like the term "stick shift." I remember my first experience driving a stick shift in traffic when I was 16-years-old--it was in very heavy Detroit rush hour traffic on the I-94. Considering the kamikaze driving habits of many Detroit drivers, and the fact that I was driving a tiny underpowered Datsun PL411 Bluebird in a sea of Motor City muscle cars and oversized family sedans was unnerving to say the least! That Datsun might as well have been a kid's pedal car--0 to 60 in about 3 minutes! Ah for living on the edge!
