Next stop Bowness Windermere Lake Cruises Steamer 'TEAL' setting off from Ambleside to Bowness. For anyone who has not done it the 'Freedom of the Lake' cruise is a must. Depart Ambleside, spend a while in Bowness then on to Lakeside. Take the steam train to Haverthwaite, stroll down to the Anglers Arms for a bite and a beverage, then back to the train in time to meet the steamer back to Ambleside via Bowness. Snowy Ambleside 27-12-10 Still deep snow at 8.30 pm. We were leaving in 12 hours.....but at least it was getting warmer....only -1c now. Left home, Hull, 21-12-10 with frozen windscreen washers, they didn't work for 8 days. it was just a little bit cold!
