I still think that you have been holding out on us, those pictures are far better than any first timeer has any right to produce. However can i put in a bit of critism. You could do with a bit of cropping of your images. Cropping a photo is one of the easiest things you can do to improve the composition of your photo. Getting rid of the unnecessary background arround your subject gives it a better focal point. If you can get rid of a lot of the bush arround that bird, it will be a stronger picture. You have a cropping tool in the software that you already have. It is dead easy to use and it is the only tool that i really use. Just try it. Regards Roy J. I think that we have go off thread again. |

Trying to get back on thread, we had a run over to the coast today, it was not planned, just a spare of the moment thing. Not a bad days watching. The kittiwakes has returned to the cliffs and were busy nesting. Several Fulmars, a Carrion Crow and a couple of Razorbills were interesting to see. The Cormorants and Herring Gulls were persent as usual. How the Kittiwakes and Razorbills manage to build their nests on those cliffs beats me. I have come across a bit of advice about zoom lens that you will be interested in. I will type it out and post it a bit later. Regards Roy J. |

Your trip to the coast sounds wonderful, which coast, east or west? How I love the sea! I would love to do a bit of pelagic birding. I've never seen Fulmar, Razorbills or Kittiwakes, I've never seen a Puffin, I would love to see a Puffin, well I'd love to see them all of course. I presume the weather was good to you. Can't wait to hear about the zoom. I wonder where Andy has gone, he likes to bird watch. Andy, are you out there? For the most part of the day, we have had an American Robin sitting in our tree just singing away. Remember the American Robin is really a thrush, so he has the throaty song of the Thrush family. Here is a picture. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b217/strangey05/AmericanRobin.jpg |

This is all a matter of opinion and you should do it as you would like it. I try and think 'what is the main feature of the picture and how best do I show it' If you like what you see then that is all that really matters. I have posted the zoom info on the lessons for sue thread. This computer is overheating again and i don't know how long it will be before it fails again. If i don't respond then you will know that this thing has crashed again. Regards Roy J. |
