PT-109 was the torpedo boat a young JFK commanded in the second world war . Or did until a Japanese destroyer sank it under him . My favourite: Pictures \| Towns \| Attractions

Using a life jacket strap he clenched in his mouth, he towed a badly-burned comrade to safety. I think that contributed to his life long back problems. My favourite: Pictures \| Towns \| Attractions
