I don't know if I would or not. I think it depends on how much it would mean to my mate.

I have very strong spiritual convictions, however, religion serves me and not the other way around. Religion is man made, spirituality is not. I am secure in my beliefs and if changing my "religion" makes the man I love happy then I'd be happy to change it. However, my spirituality and beliefs would remain the same. Does that make sense? Undecided

Diana,

That is such a thoughtful and intelligent answer. I was thinking along those lines but could not express the thoughts as you have so cleverly done. Yes, it makes absolute sense to me!.

What if you don't have any religion, like I don't, are you asking would I take one up just to please? The simple answer to that would be no. Would I ask them to become an atheist like me....again the answer would be no.

I had that problem many years ago Lyn. I got egaged to a Catholic girl. Her parent pestered me and the  Catholic priest pestered me. He said if I didnt become a Catholic, the church would not marry us. I said "good cos I dont love her anymore". We broke up. I was too young to ge married anyway.

This is the answer you should all be looking for.

I am with you Cathy, when I married Chele that was one of the vows we made.

You are a police officer. If you were ordered to break up a peaceful demonstration using a club, would you obey?
