Your thoughts on prayer 2

We made it to 51 pages on the first prayer thread, so maybe we need to put that one to bed.  I like the way it ended, on a light note, which is how it should be.  I love to talk about this stuff with anyone who cares to join the discussion, no matter how much we agree or disagree.  And I think among us we have a great variety, and by that, I wouldn't just say it was 2 camps, believers and nonbelievers.  We are all unique creations.  Thanks for all of you who shared your thoughts.  Maybe we're the first set of people who've come together on the world wide web, discussing such a controversial topic, and have not left as enemies or beat up on one another.  I'm really happy about that and happy to be a part of this special community.

I don't know if this will continue or not, but the new thread's now open.  Out of respect to POE, the first thread should now be closed.  You're all in my thoughts and prayers every day, whether you like it or not.  LOL.  God bless.

I love the thought that I'm in someones thoughts and prayers Ruth. Thank you for caring. Of course, I care too, just in a slightly different way thats all. We're all amazingly good friends here at POE, making this a real family atmosphere. Who knows, one day we might just all meet each other in the flesh, so to speak. Except for a few of us for obvious reasons.

Thanks for the new thread, Ruth - and thanks for the prayers, too.

I've just listened to the switch-on of the Large Hadron collider. I wonder if the results from that will eventually tell us more about the concept of God.

Hawking is amazing. If I had such a crippled body, I think I'd have taken my own life years ago. But he didn't - despite his awful condition he's achieved far more than most healthy people ever do. 

Yes, John, he has an incredible brain. And mine is aching after reading your link! 

I don't think you would have committed suicide if you had his condition. The human spirit is amazing in what it is able to rise above, and we nearly all cling to life no matter what the circmstances.

If those who feared a black hole would suck the earth in turned out to be right, that would coincide nicely with the Mayan's prediction over a thousand years ago. December 2012.  Just enough time to get the London olympics out of the way!
