Sue, that's a horrible story, and there are probably plenty more like them than we know. You are right about teaching yourself not to break and swerve at the drop of a hat, but it's such a reflex that I often catch myself doing it without even thinking!

I would be devastated if I killed someone's pet dog or cat but it would be infinitely worse to accidentally kill another human being while trying to avoid hitting an animal.

So is killing a human worse than killing an animal? and why??  don't worry, i'm not judging, just interested in peoples opinions!Smile

You're driving a car with your family inside, a rabbit runs out in front of you, you swerve, hit a tree, kill your daughter.

You answer the question now Jason.

I wish I could explain why, but I don't have the words. But yes, I do believe that human life is more improtant than animal life.

Ahh but thats a relative, and yes thats human instinct for a relative, what if it was the scruffy looking alcoholic, that robs people for a 'living', and say a horse

Would the choice be easier?? would you feel better about it? and if God created everything, why are some things regarded as special and others not quite as important? why do we think humans are the most important??

again, don't want to start a war here, just curious!!Smile

Boy this is a tough one.  I'm not good at these debates.  But I think we have more symapthy for humans because we are human.  We women give birth to to humans, not animals.  We put more thought into killing a murder than we would a dog that has attacked a person.  I'm not saying a animal life is any less important than a human life.  Just maybe less relatable. (sp?)  Does this make any sense?
