Time to start a new thread, I hope everyone is well and that Chris Sarah and family are feeling much better.

Isn't it good to see Chris and Sarah's names back on the froum.

We've been missing Alan and Stephanie these past few days too, though I have been in contact with Alan.

As we are quickly approaching "that time of year" I suppose everyone is getting busy and find it hard to get the time that they would like to join the gang. I am glad that my working days are over but sometimes miss the company of workmates that I knew.

Coming into POE , I can return to the places that I used to know and think of the many people that I have met during my lifetime.

There have been a few comments on snow just recently, how do you feel about that Sue, I remember your pics from the 'big snow' in the 60's.

Well I like to look at snow, I certainly don't like to drive in it.

We had our early season snow storm a few weeks ago, and that was enough for me, but without snow we don't fill up our reservoirs, and suffer during the summer, but if it stayed up in the mountains I would be happy.

When we first moved here to desert Nevada, we had the worst winter, almost as bad as the winter of '62.

to those whom wrote me earlier, yes, I'm gearing up for some place to take the whole family close by for the Holidays, if I can...and let that be that something "special" this year, I use to declare "homemade" holidays ever so once in an while...as for Obama, the "mail out" ballots have him at 59 per cent winner so far from those turned in early and the election ballots don't have to be turned in until Nov. 4th. Just thought you'd like to know, they post the daily tally in the newspaper every morning now. I know I'm not the only one having my "woes" these days, the young kids are really taking things hard...an father was arrested last night with his 6 month infant in the university hospital downtown in critical condition for being beat half to death, his father just couldn't take the "pressure" any more I guess...flipped out... we must try to work harder to change things I think. Spread some good cheer about. Its just an array of income styles here. As this guy is getting arrrested...in walks Phil Knight, Nike shoe President and founder...and gives this hospital $100 million dollars. Bet the father would of never done what he did, if someone would of offered even an $1,000 to him to make it through the month. Kind of ironic...but this is the way things are now, and "Bush" didn't help when he gave the "bankers" whom took bad risks and said he'd make everything "OK" ...while we know  he woulnd no more help this young man with the kid if he was "forced to" in ways,..but time to move on with things I guess... but when you hear people asking our Government to "wake up" these are the kinds of issues they are talking about. Enough said.

I doubt $1000 would have stopped him beating up the 6 month old!! probably just brought him more drugs/drink to fuel him up! Sorry Shirley, i'm not getting at you at all, but i've seen this kind of thing quite a few times!
