A hero in bringing joy to millions, yet still we wouldn't recognize him or his name. Robert Sherman and his brother, Richard wrote such sing along favourites as 'A spoonful of Sugar', 'Lets go fly a Kite', 'Its a Small world after all' 'Chim Chiminy', 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'. I could go on and one. I say thank you, Robert (and Richard), for certainly your songs were sung in our home many a time. |

And to add.... Welsh actor Philip Madoc aged 77 who appeared in many TV shows; one of his best remembered being in Dad's Army as a captured U-boat commander and wants to know the names of his captors for his list.... |

One of the group's two drummers and played on their hits Listen To The Music and China Grove. No one in their band was named Doobie and none of them were brothers. He's the one with the black drum kit, left side of stage, no hat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_eNqPZYZoA

Shocked to think that he is the same age as me and can die of 'natural causes'. You just never know when your time will come. My sympathies for his family and friends. |
