This is only 2nd to the Olympic Games for highlighting the world united in sport. This occasion only happens once every 4 years, just like the Olympics. For the next month the eyes of the world will be focused on SA and this tournament. SA will be centre stage in the 'shop window', hopefully SA will benefit from the publicity and income such a premier occasion and related industries can bring. Every international school boy dreams of playing international football (soccour) and the wealth it could bring to them no matter where they start from. Good luck to all and may the best team win (Hope that is England, lol) |

Most people here think soccer is just a sport to put your little kid in. It's really a great sport in my opinion!! And I'm also hoping that Americans will call if football like it should be!! lol!!! |

PLEASE REMEMBER dear friends.....No copy 'n' paste or you could get POE banned. As a former "soccer mom" and a fan of "real" football, I just wanted to share my excitement about the upcoming match between the USA and England on Saturday, 5 June (ESPN 1:30PM EDT). USA doesn't have a history of winning in the World Cup, so we are hopeful that 2010 will be different. But, whatever the outcome, I daresay it will be a great match. |

The above is actually English football jargon. Roughly translated it means... " I'm bloomin gutted at the result squire, but I aint gonna show it cuz I'm a Brit. Instead, I'm just gonna go cry in me beer!" Edited by: Toby Craig at:13th June 2010 20:41 |

I was surprised to see two Reading/Ex-Reading goal keepers in the World cup line up----Adam Federicci for Australia, Reading's current goal keeper, and on the USA sub's list on Saturday, Marcus Hahnemann who left Reading last year for Wolves. |
