Hello Cathy England...I can see you in the role of Julie Andrews with your day going well...in the sunshine.

Ok, I'm tired...RECESS!....first I had to shop..then I started the cooking....I have an bit it finshed up but I'm taking time off. I did the Dutch oven plus another big saucepan of homemade Beef Barley Soup today...two pumpkin pies from scratch...took the soup and Jalepeno and Cheese rollsl and one pumpkin pie with whip cream over to my brother...did not see him, must be down in bed right now.I'll do the zuchinni bread with cream cheese and apple pie tomarrow. I think the worse part of getting older is not being able to haul around the large pans full of food. The dutch oven filled up their crock pot...on low... he can help himself anytime he feels like it. Then since this steak I used today... is now on sale for less then hamburger...and you have to buy it in family packs of two at a time...I took out one of them with vine-ripened tomatoes and lettace for my kids and grandkid's dnner with some mushrooms. She looked like she was having what I made, steak strips over salad with tomatoes on the side and macaroni and cheese and side line of mushrooms. I finished my hubby off with pumpkin pie and whip cream. Our pan of soup I'll use tomarrow. My brother's pan of soup is going to last him at least an week I think...I told her..she ought to split it up and freeze half of it so they don't get tired of it. So now I'm kicking back and getting ready to watch some of "X-factor" maybe. Tomarrow is an  day of suppoedly an lot of protesting going on. I go for now. No dancing fo rme tonight...as mother would say...I'm just to "pooped-de-wa" tonight. (tired)....LOL.

I was right in the middle of my "experiment" James...taking my allspice bath in the tub....and my sister calls....I ask my hubby to tell her I'd call her back....got out of the tub...and five times I tried to call her...to no avail. So I didn't know if she was having problems of some kind or what ...so I went over there this morning and brought her back today...and did pretty much mothing I'd planned to do. I guess it's "OK" though as I seem to be coming down with an cold of some kind also. On our way back, some car ran itself off the road into an ditch and stopped at the power pole, had emergency out there getting the people out of it. I made swiss steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans and rosemary buiscuits and took an apple pie over ot my brother...I take it they sleep all afternoon for some reason. So I pu tthe pie on an window table like thing in his back yard...along with an book for making wooden toys...and the half and half church as I call it  Half Lutheran half something else) is looking for crafters in the area...most likely for Christmas bazzar..I wonder if I told him, he'd get the "hint"...he is so good at making things out of wood. One thing many years ago that he excelled in school also. He generally has always had "good luck" around things concerning wood also...except of the wood gathering this year...unless he's puttin me on converning that one.  My cooking for them is an nice non-committed way to say "How you doing brother" Anyway, you should see all th ethings it says on-line about the health benefits of "Allspice" besides pumpkin pie and Apple cider. I was going to see if it worked for the aches and pains...and athuritis....I'd NEVER name one of my kids "atuthur" just thinking about the ailment.

I watching 5,000 to 6,000 people walking in Portland on this Protest for jobs an justice on the banking level with their money. they are holding up signs...stop the war on working people. this is no rowdy group...this is people my age on down...but mostly in the 40 age group. Aniother sign says...tax the wealthy 1 per cent. ....another sign says...I'm here for my grandkids "future"...."Stop tearing down American Values"....I might add...it's raining here. I talk later on...

Good morning, everyone. Hope you're all well and looking forward to the weekend. We have 80 degree weather coming up in a day or so. Unusual for this time of year here. Like summer again after 30 degree nights the past few days. Had a busy day yesterday moving furniture around and trying to make the rooms look bigger than they are. I'm a collector so it's hard for me to unclutter:) A good friend of mine is in Burford this week. I so wish I could be there with her again. She's probably running up and down the high street right now.

Yes, those collections are precious...I wonder if anyone will ever take care of them as much as we whom collect them do. The West Coast has never had the really collectible things that are old, because they just were the last thing the pioneers brought with them.  MOst the people of the day out here started in the mid to late 1800's with nice things in thier houses. Really noticable in the estate sales out here also. Someone asked me one time if I had an picture of the family home in the 1794...when my mother's came out here...I had to say..if was most likley an cabin.... that since then had been torn down. The father came out here and died 3 years later. I thought about the house on th eother side of the highway...but it might of been torn down now also...but I doubt it was the original house they lived in. We have an couple of the daughters whom married the Barlow's  with Historical homes though. I have to get going, have had my grand=daughter here today....and I've got post nasal drip and  a cold and an foot wants to go nack into "gout" ....not an pretty picture....I'm having an hard time getting around today......So talk later on...
