Should have seen my daughter when the earthquake hit last week. She was so excited as it was the first one she had experienced. Pleasant dreams James! Sleep well! |

I am so sorry to hear that there have been deaths and now extra weather concerns like floods and tornados! Hope to hear from you all soon, when power is restored for those of you that have lost it!! For everyone else, I hope the weather is fine for you and that you are having a good weekend! |

My son and daughter-in-law are in Boston today, right in the path of Irene. They have been moving our step-grandson Daniel into his dorm at MIT this weekend along with hundreds of other parents. Right now, they are essentially trapped there--what a mess! Looks like we'll be keeping our granddaughter Eva Lucia for a day or two longer, though, so there is a little silver lining in that very dark cloud.

My feet went down, cooler air this morning also. 11 people died so far in the hurricane back east. Made eggs and toast and coffee this morning and catching up on the news in general...looks like "Boardwalk" in New York took an nasty toll...lower Manhatten is flooded...and I guess there is about 3 million people without power. Storm is in New England...dropped out of hurricane and tropical storm catagories...picked up speed...should be out of there sooner. So now the clean up starts. Everyone went to Facebook and Twitter with hurricane, how selfish. Kind of like an "secluded" group in ways. So many of the pictures won't be seen unless you have Facebook and twitter. I guess I can live without the "small talk" over there going on, but I hope it didn't influence anyone back east from doing something that might of helped them during this storm. Why do we have "kids" these days?...they sure don't want anyone around.. but themselves. |
