Get rid of the old books, slides, videos, excess linen, bedlinen, curtains, tableware, kitchenware, games, puzzles, everything tucked away in all the cupboards! Don't leave it until you HAVE to do it! |

He was happy! Cathyml..good to see you here...yes, I know what you mean....but you know I tend to pass off some of this stuff to my daughter in-law...but I'm still everyone's storage facility in the house.I've hauled off several pickup loads already....sofa, chairs, you name it...I know what your talking about. At one time I had tinkered with the idea of refurnishiing furniture pieces...many of them went out the door also.. was all I could do not cry as I gave away this needed repaired inlaid wooden table that was an coffee table that swiveled up to make into an card table...they still sell it in New England area for $450...and I saw it here in an fine furniture shop painted with roses around it's edges.. and it sold for $650 ...I bought it many years ago for $50 in an fund-raiser for the local Children's Drug Awareness Program. It was just always next to impossible to refinish anything unless the weather was just perfect in the summer time....took up considerble room to store it also...so I let it go. I have four chairs I've been holding on to paint them also that are older chairs with unique designs...I thought they could be an nice alternative with an outside patio table. Real wood is hard to find and getting harder all the time...at least in prices low enough to refinish them over again. Chairs now "start" at most the time $25 to $30 an chair...use to be able to pick up four of them for that price. Tonight is Holloween...last night I stayed up until about 2 am going through the house and checking things out...such as new toliet paper rolls n the bathrooms, fresh towels...new sponges by the kitchen sink...round of fresh bottled water in all the bedrooms....thawing out the cheese fondo for tonight..".uno" cards near the table for the kids to play if they stop by tonight...bird seed refilled in the feeders out front...appliances wiped down....sofa quilt washed and "refreshened" Hot chocolate near the microwave and ready to make in mugs. This went on for several hours last night. So I slept in this morning and half the day is gone. Also opened up the candy and put it in an dish for distrubuting tonight. I don't really expect many people out and still have to get my big pumpkin out there and plugged in...hubby's job as I make dinner. Tomarrow the scary goes..the Autumn stays to round out Thanksgiving next...and start working on Christmas. James...how ya doing...ready for all the trick or treaters? Our newspaper shows an picture of Prince Charles and says his genealogy shows that Vald the Impaler was an past ancestor...and that they own an residence in Romania...he understand "Holloween" perhaps? All this came about with the changing of the season of light from summer days...to winter with darker days many years ago. I guess you know the electric company told me last year to save electricity to stop the baking and live in one small room and heat it only...in short..go "stir crazy" by Spring. One of these days I'm gonna say...why don't YOU keep the rates down by finding other revenue sources then the people...whom can't deduct thier electric bills like many can.... as an business expense. They arrested 25 people last night in "Occupy Portland" as they tried to move their tents to an different location...to the Pearl district and told them were not issued permits to move. They are when they get the chance trying to break them up as an group...and with winter coming on will most likely use anything they can to do so. If "road kill" is any indication...one elk deer died yesterday out on highway 26 very near me...maybe 2 miles south of here...untold place for an deer to my estimation....and I came home Saturday...while hubby took the grandkids to an movie to put away some glass dishes I'd collected again that belonged to me and found an "mouse" in the center floor of my livingroom thanks to the cats...dead. So it means they are now coming in for over winter...in this case I'd left the back pation door open that day and most likley how it got inside. My cats fulfilled thier purpose I guess you know...and it looked like it died of "fright"...not being bitten or abused. My cats are to well fed otherwise to eat the prey they kill. I am about 2/3 through my latest book I'm reading also...with that I go for today... and let you know how things went this year...later on. |

Keep loads of treats to hand out and the kids are very polite and good humoured, may be there is hope yet with the younger generation |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 17:09 on 1st November 2011 Gonul..so glad to see you here!....been wondering if you were OK after that earthquake recently. Holloween for us started out good...but required me calling my son to come save me from hubby before he put me to bed in nursing home style at 8:30 pm...he came. It did though keep me from seeing an lot of "Dancing with the stars" last night...which was enjoyed what I did see of it. I'll see an repeat of the show tonight while he's at Scouts. We had about 10 trick or treaters. Not many compared to the past years of my son growing up. Thanks to my son...was able to stay up until 11:30 pm. Then I woke up this morning to find out " all hell " broke loose last night into today. An judger deceided on this death of an baby by an church beleives in faith healing (they have been trying to for years shut it down as an religion)...sentenced an couple for the death of thier pre-mature baby boy...we watched her cry unmercifully stating if indeed she was sent to prison for 6 years that their remaining children she feared for them and their safety...as they had never been alone since they day they were born...they were the ONLY people the kids had known of as parents and care takers... since they had born. That bothered me greatly. Maybe God didn't or did show up in this..... but if you really knew how many folks are killed by inadequate health services every year...and how many lives are destroyed by the high fee's they charge....this couple would be but an nil minority maye not putting forth their best interests of the child. Then comes this news from Seattle...about an 20 month old baby girl brutally raped by an "ex" boyfriend....by the time her mother got her to the hospital, she was an bloody mess and torn apart physicall in her lower parts...with huge tears coming down her face from the horror of the pain she was inflicted with...he said she got that way from bouncing her on his leg...the dotors said, no, she was pentratedby an penis that inflicted severe physical trama, and tore her little insides out...am I wrong to say "Kill him"? He had been sending her mother's newest boyfriend death messages and called himself "Lord Shar". the mother is needing ot be raked over the coals also to put more into having an boyfreind and "party fun" over that of parenting...she's unfit to be an mother. She should be fixed...so she can never ever have any kids...like the animals " in season" that we do that to these days. Then they up and marched in on "Occupy Portland" at 4:30 this morning to arrest some more poeple via Federal troops in riot gear...assholes...these people are not rioters....they are "American citzens" asking for help because the rich bastards got to" have it all these days" Of course for the most part, none o fthese people put up an fight...being awaken up and hauled off in the middle of the night practically. They have thier parties, their vacations, the finest houses..the newest cars...while the rest of us can barely afford to buy groceries and pay the utitlites. Shame on them....let me say that again...SHAME ON THESE GREEDY PEOPLE!!! They are NOT "God's" type to people.... to turn their backs on their fellow human beings that have helped them to have more in life. That leads me to the next article..."Elderly and disabled homeowners who have been kicked off the state's property deferal prgram unbeknownist to them...have stormed town hall saying...do soemthing about this..and do it fast..so that the low income elderly can remain in thier homes". Thousands of people who were eligible last year were dropped off the rolls because they were told they no longer apply or didn't know they had to reapply. From her seat in the front row, Linda Miller said she earns less then $10,000 an year, and she's if she has to pay this she will probably lose her house of 16 years...for many of these people this represents 40 per cent upwards of their income. Maybe they should investigate and see whose abusing the system. I know my entire Social Secuirty Checks for for nearly half an year went to paying my house taxes this year...and I get no outside help from an other services for groceries or utilty payments...but my husband currently. If the state had over-rided my sister losing her house for lack of income...and helped her....they wouldn't be supporting her at an cost threes time higher for an room in size 80 per cent smaller every month. They caused their own over indebtness. In th emeantime....what happened to our "kicker checks" Govenor Kitzhaber...I don' tremember telling you ...that you could keep my money...you just "took it" you crook! Sleep nicely with yoru girlfriend tonight knowing others are goign without Christmas this year because YOU! People won' t eat as well this iwnter...because of YOU! Because YOU pocketed our money that wasn't yours to do so to begin with. So what are you "wasting" it on next? So you all see...."evil"...... did it's thing last night...hurting the helpless. And those behind are gloating over thier victory of persecution somewhere behind the lines. Cowards. |

The food was unblielivable! A trip back and forth across the Golden Gate Bridge on an open top bus was breathtaking, in more ways than one. It was a perfect trip. |
