Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 18:41 on 27th October 2011 Most of our highways have an center lane to them...for people pulling out onto the street.. people needing to stop.... or emergency vehicles to go around cars in an emergency...I've even seen trucks unload merchandise out in the center of them when they can't stop anywhere else to do it...esp in small towns. They are kind of all purpose lanes. In the mountains they can also at times use them for snowplows to desposit snow to off the highway and also help make it easier to avoid car accidents...first they use the sides of the roads though before they will the middle.. so cars can't slide off the hills.. and then do the middle lane sometimes. Helps cars that lose control to slide into the the snow banks then into each other. They got 15 inches of snow yesterday in Colorado's first snow storm of the season...maybe more by now...but Leslie came in an mentioned thats what they had predicted and she was watching it come down at her house. I have my grandson here again today...just arrived and I have things I need to do outside of the house right now. Hate to have to drag him along with me not feeling top notch. Will see how things go as the day progresses. He would probably enjoy getting the squirrel some more to eat. He's rumaging through my birdseed for sunflower seeds right now and making quite an mess for the birds to clean up. This was not an year our nut trees produced an lot of nuts...though he's got apples and grapes oout back...and indeed he was out there yesterday in teh apple tree looking like an circus trapeze characteron an high wire thin skinny tree branch...in the sun. We also had our first heavy frost here yesterday morning for the season. Watching "Chaz" on another talk show right now..."The View"...I think this has gotten him into the limelight of an career in something even if he didn't make it through the dancing apsect. |

Photography wise, good day, for the first time ever got one of my pics in print. The National Trust Holiday Cottage brochure has used a pic of mine in the 2012 brochure, just a nominal voucher (NT) of course as reward but ego boost- great. |
