It was nice to get away and have a fun with the family. It was a bit sad at times for me and my brother-in-law who recently lost our wives. My sister went last year. Fortunately the sadness was fleeting and got on with being cheerful. |

Barely got the patio furniture cushions brought in when it started sprinkling. Then I read another chapter of the book I just bought...I read the slow cooker receipe book and the spa book and the old time deserts book last night..or skim through them. Think I'kk have to get me some avacados so I can try out the face mask...look like an green monster just for fun. James you'd like this book I'm reading...fella decides to take an year out of his life and write an book about his expereinces of living in the wilderness for an year...in the Tahoe National Forrest. So far he's been anything but alone. His brothers came out to see him, with an case of beer and helped him get his tipi set up....of his neighbors, one's growing "pot" on the hillside..another is basically an self made transit type with no other place to live...and one's an gold panner, another is an old time local of the area, they live separately but visit each other, just had an fishing contest for July 4th...they are staying on the banks of the "American River" Old ledgend has it that there's an ancient pyramid in the area...UFO's fly in an out of it...talking about going to Scout that part out at the moment...journal he's keeping is for 1984...he's 27 and an teacher normally by occupation...Grew up in this area as an kid apparently..his name is Robert. Thye tell him not to stay over winter..to harsh an climate, will see if he does or not. Besides the fishing, he's growing an small garden for food near the river bank. He's slightly up higher on an terraced piece of ground. He's almost given up once already for the lack of privacy to his wilderness area. But an lady he knows by the name of Mary talked him out of it. She told him that having an expereince in the way of living life is better then being an sheeple and acting brain dead to the world, as so many do these days with life. That was funny...she's living in an trailer house not to far away...she was out watering her garden when he pulled up.. in the buff...she took off runnning for clothes and managed to get herself locked out of the trailer...so he had to climb in an window and help her...which left her an bit "embarassed" to say the least...so goes the life of not expecting anyone to be around. in the middle of no-where these days...it was an nice sunny day. He has such "escapades" from journal entry to journal entry. Yep..streets are now wet here....think I'll go an read some more. |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 05:39 on 21st May 2012 It's an " guys type" of book Cathyml...but also an everday kind of an adventure...it's about half read through. Two hours before the eclipse, I lost my computer...why I have no idea...it turns on...but there's an black screen there...the words of "starting" doesn't ever show up.I still have my hubby's, but I still most likely won't be posting as much as before until I get it figured out what's wrong with mine...just the last day or so it was insisting that I use the "fingerprint scan" to turn it on with...yet I had never set it up to do so...I have no idea if someone could of taken it over to use for themselves or not... But anyway, I thought I would tell you all.. as far as I'm concerned the fingerprint scan is only an good short cut if your going to watch an movie on the thing and you don't have the riga-ma-roll of having to go through the computer first to make the movie come on. But anyway. Tomarrow is the finals of "Dancing with the Stars" also. ... by Tuesday night the finsish for the season. My sister in-law called and wants to celebrate no more radiation treatments..by going out to lunch when my brother is working...so I said "OK" on that one...sometime this week. Sat through the eclipse but wasn't real noticable here because of the time it happened. Three quakes already see if any more come about by the next day or so on that one. My book reads like the "Grouse Club" in full action in ways, he went there to "find himself" he thought... through living in the wilderness...for the most part he's spent the Spring and Summer Partying and its now going into Autumn...his buddies he's made are now leaving for the city come winter...he's unsure if he wants to stay or not..pretty harsh winters in the Sierra Mts. But now he's getting to be the last to remain. I must admit, I never knew much about marijuana...let alone know how to cultivate it...I had no idea that you have to keep the males from polinating with the female buds...unless the book is pulling my leg somewhat on it all. Guy lost most his crop from mildrew and rain at the wrong time. But the guy growing it says while he feels like an failure in life...it's his only way to earn money so far...he's not that well educated to get an job apparently. Times of laughing at them and what they do and yet at times an somber truth to life also. Talk to you all... when I can. |

This morning when I rose the temperature was 4 degrees and right now I have an electric heater on in the den to stop me from sitting here shivering. Winter came suddenly and with a vengeance. Many parts of the country are forecast to be sub zero tonight. The town of Sutherland in the Wester Cape is expected to be - 6 degrees and here in Pietermaritzburg a low of 6. A bit warmer than last night but not sa as you'd notice. I can't wait 'til next Wednesday when I arrive in England to (hopefully) much warmer weather. I hope you all well today. |
