But what about the price we have been paying Shirley......£7.50 a gallon?

How many dollars per gallon would that be for you right now?

The American gallon is smaller than the English gallon, but even so, we pay ALLOT less for our gas than you do. ALLOT LESS!

Sue is most probably correct...I hear that heating costs are so bad some third world countries that they have been trying to develop alternate sources because they have also about used up all the trees in firewood also.  They have this tall kettle like thing that someone developed that will heat water below...has an chamber in the center and can be cooked on at the top of it. It says when you go to buy one that it's for third world countries and that if you order one, their priorty to that cause comes first...you might be put onto an waiting list.  Itcan be used with several different kinds of fuel sources. No one has invented "solar powered" tents as of yet. Maybe they can' tmake smaller blocks of solar panels as of yet? I keep thinking of the big bubble wrap thing we use to use on our swimming pool to keep it warm and clean. Perhaps the first buble wrap tent with windows in it for air ventilation. I wish they'd make tents with zipped holes in the bottom to have an small fire inside the tent. They stopped making those mini-small cast iron stoves like they use to have for about $50 each. One of our scout guys use to have an small cast iron stove and he used it with an loose plastic tarp tied to trees, up above it...kind of was nice at times...really put out the heat. You could close the door on the stove and walk away and know it would be safe. Leave hot water on the top of it in an oversized coffee pot. Set your boots around it to warm them up also. He had his mounted on rollers..steel..for easy transport.

I watched "Untold America" last night...and they did an show on the death of Meriweather Lewis...guy went with William Clark on the Corps of Discovery to find an western route across the country they could develope into an water way. His family says that he was murdered and didn't commit sucide as was told. He has several pages in his journal missing. Hence the mystery. They hunted his apron down...he was an Masonic Lodge memeber...to Montanta..and did DNA on the blood stains on it. They found two other DNAprints on the apron in those areas. Fella said that thye could of been there for other reasons then his death...but his family claims he was fighting with someone just before the heard the shots ring out that killed him. He had been talking about making his journal notes into an book...what do you suppose that he might of written that he didn't want others to know. Some people I've heard it said..say he had an love affair and an child on on the trip by his Indian guide Sacawgia(sp?)..they say that he furinish the support for her already born infant son also in education when they got back...maybe they were afraid Meriweather would say more about it. When they started out in this show it was to see if they could find some trace of "Welsh" settlers in the area..from an old tale also. One of my archeology magazines talks of the "Shawnee" telling about an group of white people that they killed many years ago... that was suggested to maybe been the "Lost Colony" people from North Carolina....maybe the "Welsh" people in this area.  Nothing like an mystery.  I do beleive they had quite an slave trade going on in the area also, with "captive" people in general...many kids no doubt. I think they were taking them up to the Great Lakes and out of the country...I suppose we will never know in ways. Some of the kids were to little to know thier parents names. French and British officers use to try to buy back the young girls...knowing what they'd do to them. Kind of sad in ways.  Hard telling I guess by now..what was going on.

I woke up from an clear sky last night and stars out to it drizzle raining and the streets are all wet.  What an change. My grandson, whom I wish would eat more...ate three slices of fresh orange. I gave him an small bowl of oatmeal...two cinnamon french toasts, two sausage links and the orange slices. Oh well... its getting toward lunch time. Have an good day everyone!

I need to clarify myself...it was William Clark that had the love affair with the Native woman...though she was supposedly the wife of an Frenchman..he bought her...so she was his property..more then just his wife...and most likley didnt' really mind leading her out perhaps Things like this happened more then you might think back in those days..

Don't tell the Texans..they would never accept the thought. Everything is bigger and better there. EXcept I can't understand why they call the show "Pioneer Woman" for an cooking show when they operate an huge cattle ranch. That's not my idea of the "pioneer women" I "ve  heard of that lived in log cabins.  Of course the new ones these days are like those in Texas...HUGE..and expensive. I do like one law they have there...no matter who you owe...they can't take away your primary house...all the oil, the cadallacs...the swimming pools...stocks and bonds....they can take them but they can't affect your primary house. If we had laws like that, we wouldn't see such high Govt taxes in having to shelter people elsewhere. In particular when they are older and can't work much.

Kids are here with Chris...whom just wipped his next to new truck against an yellow pole. Working on the green and white truck. It is old, but it has some good things about it..it's paid for and its got double tanks and it' 3/4 ton. It's got the special pulling transmission also and and heavy duty trailer hitch

We are out talking to my neighbor today..she tells us her Red Irish Setter dog has about an month left to go... as it's got cancer. It's an friendly dog. Hardly ever barks..meets and greets everyone. Will be sad to see it go. She's going to get her huge Oak trees out front cut down..but she has an line of huge pine trees behing them. I do agreethat they need half cut just to keep them safe if they should ever fall over...but I like the shade also. So much for the local gossip today I guess. It's very Spring...amid rain showers, rainbows and billowing clouds with blue sky sun breaks. All the bulbs are up.

Bad, bad bad..none of the two links came through for me...

Pamela posted the top link over in earthboppin.net under the topic of the volcano in New Zealand..earthwaves boards....and I have no idea why this other link won;t work ..as I have it bookmarked...and it's coming in very good for me. What it basically says is that there was an fourth son of "Noah"  from the area of Eden..gives his name and relates to the information as possible kinship...name sounded an lot like "Jesus"later on.  After you read them, was going to ask you how many of you thought this was fleezy material to look fantasic.I come across an lot of such stuff these days.
