Veteran actor, Eli Wallach aged 98. Probably best known for playing roles as the bad guy, and having learnt to ride horses in Texas while at university in Austin, he found his way into notable films such as The Magnificent Seven as leader of the Mexican bandits, and as an adversary to Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, amongst many other film, TV, and stage roles.

Bobby Womack, Soul Singer, died today aged 70. It didn't seem very long ago I saw him on one of Jools Holland's TV shows.

He was probably not so well known in recent years, but he was of the generation of great artists such as Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin and many others who defined soul music.

DJ and radio host Mike Smith has passed away from complications following heart surgery.

Only 59, so very young.

Remembering the young, blond DJ. Rest in peace, Mike.

Sad news hearing of the death of actor/comedian Robin WIlliams.

They say suicide, which makes it even more tragic.

I'm still remembering Mork & Mindy, and of course he shined in Mrs. Doubtfire.

Sad, sad news.
