Bernhard Jordan, aged 90. A former D Day Royal Navy veteran, Mr Jordan made international news when last summer, he disappeared from his nursing home in West Sussex and caught a Ferry to Normandy to attend the D Day commemorations there, thus causing a search by staff and police for his whereabouts and being dubbed by the press as The Great Escaper. A week later on his 90th Birthday, he'd received some 2,500 birthday cards from all around the world.

RIP Mr Jordan. Glad you made it to Normandy.

Irene Jordan aged 88, wife of Bernard above who passed away a week after her husband. They'd been married 65 years.

Rod Taylor has died aged 84 --another all time great.

Actor Lance Percival dies aged 81.

The Swedish actress Anita Ekberg best known for her role in "La Dolce Vita" has passed away at 83.

Anne Kirkbride - Deirdre from Coronation Street has died at the age of 60 years after a short illness.

I've never watched Coronation Street so I don't know the lady, but 60 is still very young.
