Our Nathaniel Lawson and Col John Strawhen were both into the same line of business after the Rev war era..in buying up old land grants not taken up by people by purchasing them..they then set up towns in the area..particurlarly Ohio and Indiana. They may of been Brtish owned land prior also. I know they took away Daniel Boone's land holdings, claiming there was no United States of America when he took out the land grant titles. I believe the Strawhen family were part of George Washington's elite "Spy" corps known as the "Blue Hens" in history. They were basically out of New York/Pennsylvania during the war. Jack Beam's whiskey Distillery operating in Glenn's Creek, Ky was originally owned by the Strawn family. Strawn's were ,married to the Read/Reed family..married my ancestor William E. Larkins..I am no tso sure this isn't recently made up lineage though..I can't say I've ever ran into it before. People now are "making" their own history these days to suit themselves you know. Nice way to slip in Sukey (Susan) Lawson once again? |

We've had it into the 100's last month and thats enough for me, Still, I shouldn't grumble. The cold weather will be here soon enough and last way longer than our summers. Got to pick up money from the bank today. Medical bills have drowned us, but we mst move on. |
