Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 21:00 on 5th August 2013 Good morning..I already had to file for an medical bankrupty of funds after my heart operation. They paid about $50,000 of the costs. I still paid about $10,000 of it though. My son also filed for bankruptcy..lost everything.... due to health costs also. He worked for an employer that he thought was paying medical bills to find out later on, they hadn't paid any of them.. by then he'd already quit working there and got stuck for the whole amount due at once. I was never so angry, I felt he should of taken his past employer to court, but he claimed he didn't even have the money left to do that with. They came out like in the middle of the night and towed his truck away from him. He had to take th day off, to find another vehicile to get him to work daily..and at that got scalped on car interest fee's to buy it. He ended up dumpinf it as soon as he made enough money to get an used on on his own. She's up to high heaven on student loan debts for her college degree right now. You will find most of our money out at their hosue trying to sustain thier family and keep it going. One of their Christmas bills last year was 6 months of back Cable Tv bills. See this is the" education".... this area never gave my son...he can't afford to support himself and an family..but has on anyway. I don't feel my area has any right to our tax money...they can't prove they can use to help us so far. ..it's just stick in the pocket money for themselves to spend while we go without. Like my neighbors, stuck us with payin g for the fence between our houses to begin with..so now it's falling down...so she made an comment about it...and true enough, her piling rocks up against the wood helped to rot it out..so hubby went out and placed metal fence posts and hooked the wood fence to that..i told her, you want something different..pay for it yourself...she didn't she put air-conditioning in her house instead last week. How much you wanna bet she's the first one to vote for higher school taxes also. ..while the problems get passed off to someone else as usual. I hope "God" is watching how you bilk your neighbors out of an peaceful lifestyle. They should move to the middle east..where it's an " free for al"l to each other daily..and one reason they end up fighting all the time also. Cause everyone is waiting for the the other guy to pick up the costs of everything, when some have it.... and most don't. So to survive the most that don't declare war on the others..and they destroy each other and have even less. Kind of like when the colored people burned down LA one year many years ago...didn't like their housing then..but that gave away to no housing aftter the fire swept through the neighborhood... STUPID! While city hall party's up at Persimmon Golf Course..our paved street of 32 years is growing grass in cracks...the neighbors are tryin to replace their own sidwalks also. Why should we pay these scumbags an dime more?..heh? It's turning hot again this week, and I am praying earnest pryaing our plants and vegetation can make it through it without burning again...we won't get some of the burned leaves off the trees until this fall when they drop...but I see an nursery out east of town here plowed up probably 5 acres or more of dead evergreems and has them in an stack to burn when the burning ban is lifted this fall. Lost money there. He's left the fild empty for right now..which means that he's wating for autumn now. Richard...An guy from Pine, Colorado died yesterday he was taking pictures up on Mt. Hood on an snowboard and fell through an ice tunnel to his death..they said tons of ice fell on him as he was falling they had to get equiptment up there to cut into the ice to get to him, but it was to late. But that is what happens on those glaciers up there this time of the year, our hottest. We have been known in the past up on White River Glacier on Mt. Hood to have an pocket of melted ice water break loose this time of the year and go careening down the side of the mountain unannounced also, in one case taking out an bridge over the highway....It can be very dangerous up there...I should say year around also...as I doubt any of the people that have died on the mountain ever expected to do so. We just about met our waterloo up there one time with the Scouts...we broke camp and decdied to leave from the rain going through we we camped over night...we got to the top of the hill and ran into the year's first snowstorm..had we even been oen hour later they would of had to fly in to get us out of there. We put the four wheel pickup's behind the two wheels climbing back up the hill just for safety..and had wenches for pulling on the back of the trucks....I was never so glad to get out of there in my life...straight down on one side, straight up on the other side..Badger Lake. Road was solid rock, but still had water flowing down the middle of it.in places. we have never been back since then.... and can't say I really care if we ever do. That comes up this next month...planning.the outtings for next year. The recent charging of park fee's has really hit the Scouts something bad...most troops don't have that kind of money. As is also, fire danger has been bad also. I must go for now...I kind of got off into other tangents that bother me sometimes in the posting, you will have to over look them kindly..as life goes on I guess you know. People are predicting all kinds of chaos for the month of August I guess you know...people use to look to better times, not worse ones. At any rate, make th ebest of the day as you can. I'll try to make the best of the higher temperatures also..if possible. They just said they found out an 5 degree hike in temperatures can cause more crime in society...less happiness. I say if you want it hot..go to it..don' t give it out. Plenty of places around the globe with hotter temperatures then what I want to live in Nothing like traveling to visit someplace. |

It's actually very nice now with temps in the 70's but for most of the summer it's been closer to 100 and humid. I am not complaint though because I know it's going to be cold again in 6 weeks. And though I adore the autumn, the winters are far too long and brutal. |
Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 05:56 on 6th August 2013 I went to the store tonight to cool off an bit, and bought next week's groceries tonight..rain on the west side of Mt. Hood but not here. Just the other side of the town Estacada....right in the path my son has to drive through everyday. We have an neighborhood association party tomarrow night...they put out the signs today to attend tomarrow. It' s an desert potlauck..so might stay up tonight and bake an blueberry cobbler for it. Maybe some lemon bars also .Idea of cake don' t turn me on in this heat. My kitty cat is not happy tonight..I grabbed him earlier and soaked an hand towel and gave him an sponge bath...he's sitting here beside me tearing up notebook paper feeling uncomfortable. This morning when I woke up he was flat on his back stretched way out with his hands over his head in an prayer taking up most of the bed....maybe as it gets an bit cooler, he'll return to his ole kitten cat self. My fans are running right now on the ceilings also. Yes, I watched an lot of people this weekend getting ready for this winter with firewood. Yet I don' t think you can go as yet and get it yourself, so they must know someone maybe. Most these people have no other heat but an wood stove up near Mt. Hood when the utilities go down in winter storms. We saw an doe on the corner where this one guy was cutting wood, near an creek last weekend. Probably there because of the creek right now...shady area and leafy for eating on also. I have not seen the kid's local resident deer as of late in an long time...she said they had an courgar in the area, may of chased them out or took the mother down...we did see an buck here sometime back. Majestic looking thing. Headed over by the horse corral for probably an bit of hay to eat or water. Farmer's Almanac is out fo rnext year in the stores now. Guess I better go, have an third eye weirdness tonight myself. Maybe the rain off to the east of us, west of Mt. Hood now. Have an good evening. |
