Rusty Ruth....have you ever dried fresh apple rings for over winter to make "stack cakes" with an group of ladies? You know, you hang them up in an warm place to dry and reconstitute them in water for the filling in the cake. Ancestors use to do it when there was no refrigeration available in the 1700's to 1800's. If you have, let me kno whow it's done..after you slice the apple rings. I just happen to have an food dehydrator...besides an wood stove.

Good evening everyone...been busy all day long...BUT...I found me an rocking chair..one that's decopaged on the top of it in harvest fruits and I can remember when it cost new $200...got it for $12...but it needs some wood glue in an few places and cleaned up a bit.

My check came in so it is...I saved some more for the property taxes
today. You know they waiting the last minute on passing the debt celing, and it's coming up again in January...did they find anyways to
cut back on spending though?...like the 10,000 an hour plus for the 15 days they messed around not getting anywhere...each of them were making that kind of money...253 of them...they can't seem to
understand it's them that needs to be on budget. Rest of us aren't living that lavishly. Mostly from pay check to paycheck. Ought to be interesting what they do in January...it's not like they don' t know that
it's not but three months away.

Trees REALLY turned over quick this last two days in Autumn colors..
I mean they are making an striking statement in nature right now. No
rain until mid week is forcasted...not sure if I like that one, things have been to dry over here this summer in ways. But all means
"bundle up"....they expect England to be colder this winter because
of the gravitation of the earth is changing to where north pole is swinging more southward these days. So they think all along the
area from the border of the USA and over into paraelle with England to be more climatic and colder, and when it rains, it snows...but then
again, they forcasted for my area down here in the valley with snow by Nov 15th and we hardly ever have more then an week of snow..and it's usually in late January....never as early as November. Cascades Mountains are an different subject. Bend, Oregon had it's first freeze two nights ago. Ski lodges are starting to open up for this season. Just in time for the holidays.

I guess I should say "HI" to our POE "guys" out there...got to talking to Ruth...and you know "girl talk" guys...we just rattle onward. I am about to try out an couple new receipes...one is apple-kale slaw, and another is pumpkin soup..using canned pumpkin....and the last one is an cauliflower-potato type green salad..I think it used fennel seeds in it. I went to the store looking for my usual "scones" and they were all sold out. I guess if I want any that I'll have to make some weight watcher type to go with my tea by the fireplace. Getting ready to make ornaments for the tree...I see some different ones, tiny little paper pin-wheels that hang down from the tree branches. It says to use two different kinds of shiny/decorative paper, one heavier then the other and then fold down the corners and pin the center...attach an hanger on them for the tree.  Gotta go now!
